Another Democratic Governor Vetoes Voter ID
A Semi-News/Semi-Satire from AzConservative ^ | 25 June 2011 | John Semmens

Posted on 06/27/2011 1:50:48 PM PDT by John Semmens

North Carolina’s Governor Beverly Perdue (D) vetoed a bill that would’ve required voters to show photo IDs before casting their ballots.

“The right to choose our leaders is among the most precious freedoms we have,” Perdue said. “It shouldn’t be restricted to only those who can prove who they are. Just because a person has no documentary proof of who he is doesn’t mean he has no interest in who will govern him. The laws affect everyone. So everyone should have the right to vote without being impeded by unnecessary restrictions.”

Make an exemption for dead voters and she’ll sign.

A much-deserved satirization for the soon-to-be ex-Governor.

Thats the most stupid statement I ever heard . Welll: Almost.

Why have voter registration at all.
Let everone vote.
Out of Staters, Illegals, Let them choose what they want to be that week and vote accordingly. Why make them prove they are legal, from your own state, or anything else.

Voting for everyone who shows up, don’t even have the registration book there.

Very confused reasoning by the gub’ness. How about 14-year olds, imprisoned felons, the mentally feeble who need a conservator.

No Gub’nor. Not everyone is afforded the right to vote, and the request to prove you are who you say is not out of line, Betcha need some ID to get food stamps.

“Just because a person has no documentary proof of who he is doesn’t mean he has no interest in who will govern him”.

...that’s insane! He should be “governed” where he is a citizen. This means I should be able to vote in any state I want. In any COUNTRY I want.

Let’s see, you have to have an ID to get a six pack of beer, a pack of cigarettes, a driver’s license, a passport, a social security card, a hunting or fishing license, and a score of other things, but not to participate in our most important function as a citizen: to vote. That makes so much sense.

Extrapolating that logic, lets send the whole world US mail in ballots.

What is ironic about this whole voter ID sham, is the fact that many of the wet backs in the states will vote because we have no way of knowing if that person is a U.S. citizen or not, but in their home country of Mexico if they don’t have a voter ID card with photo and don’t go to the correct polling place, they can’t vote. Mexico may be all screwed up in many ways, but the voter ID isn’t one of them

Only someone who rode Obama's coattails into office and has no chance of winning again without stuffing most of the ballot boxes in North Carolina could use that kind of logic... Maybe the next thunderstorm that rolls though Raleigh will get her.

Oh, you mean someone like an illegal immigrant living here and collecting welfare and other tax payer supported assistance that the democrats provide to said people in order to get reelected? May I suggest recall proceedings start right away on this governor!
