Google Loves Obama

Despite his populist anti-free market rhetoric and record, the President has a love affair and relationship with a corporate giant. The company is Google and the incestuous relationship pays dividends to both parties but leaves taxpayers out as the third wheel.
Money magazine in an article entitled "Obama & Google (A Love Story)" described the love affair as "[F]rom his denunciations of Wall Street greed to his critiques of the auto manufacturers, Obama and his team have done little to disguise their mistrust of big business -- except when it comes to one very large, very influential technology company."
The relationship between the corporate giant and the president started before Obama's ascension to the presidency.
Google has long supported President Obama. In his book, "The Audacity of Hope" President Obama embraces the relationship pointing out that Google managers and employees were among his largest supporters, donating nearly one million dollars to his campaign.
And the Obama administration has been good for Google as well. A 2008 Politico story detailed the relationship between the newly elected president and the company. "' From the staff attorney all the way up the line, everybody now knows that Google is close to Obama,'" Politico reported. "And that could subtly affect the policy playing field in Google's favor." Subtly was an understatement. Google executive Andrew McLaughlin was appointed to a White House position with a hand in Internet policy issues. In addition, Google has been awarded massive government contracts and the President has pushed Google-sought polices like Net Neutrality.
Seeing their investment paying massive dividends, Google appears to have stepped up once again giving the President's re-election team a competitive advantage in raising money and online support.
Google has crafted a new ad program that will be a boon to political campaigns. And even while the program is in Beta testing, the Obama re-elect campaign has been given special access to the program by Google.

I go to Google all the time, and it’s almost impossible to find articles written by conservatives.

Google loves Obama = Sun is hot = Sky is blue

Even the Anthony Weiner stories include a Liberal spin piece by HuffPo or Salon.com to make someone pause in the face of facts. Google Palin, and every story is negative.
Like the media, they are 100% biased and Marxist.

What search engine do you use?

Surprising how we deride liberals as stupid, yet they seem to control all the new information technology: Microsoft, Apple, Google, etc.

I’ll check that out too. Thanks...

I switched over to startpage about a year ago and have been very happy. I will never visit Google. Or, if I can help it, Wikipedia or any of the other leftist sites like that.

I think we have to device a new way for people to “find” their news/vies/opinion/commentary.
Search engines are not a good format. We need better, and it has to be “fair and balanced” (and I’m not talking about FOX).
I have some ideas.

Also, I’ve never had a problem finding anything on a search ... I was a little worried about that. Dumb stuff like local office phone numbers, or restaurant reviews, or more-in-depth searches that I used to Google, I can find just as easily on Startpage.

Also, I automatically go to Google if I want to post a picture here. It’s a habit, but I’ll try Startpage instead.

I’ve switched to www.DuckDuckGo.com and have had excellent results. Give it a try.
These are the first step toward Google losing half or more of its user base and taking a big hit in its ad revenue.

What do you have in mind?
It's complicated, and simple at the same time. But hear me out.
What I have in mind is based on how people use their computers to search and "get to" what they are looking for. Searching is what search engines do. "Getting to" what you seek is what I have in mind, but I would allow a little bit of "searching".
I mentioned that it's "complicated" because, it uses a very complicated database scheme. I mentioned "simple" because, the interface to the regular user would be very simple to understand and use. Making something that is complicated seem simple is not an easy task. Even creating the articles would be very simple and a lot simpler than using a CMS system. By "get to", I mean allowing a person to select and/or enter the specifics of what he or she wishes to see and/or read.
A system such as what I have in mind, would allow a person to select from articles which would be accessible via categories, subjects/topics/issues, type of articles, authors, publishers, publisher type, date or date range, geographical location related to the article.
Categories would allow a person to drill down to deeper levels or sub-categories. Subjects could be entered and/or selected from a pre-defined list. Authors could also be selected and/or entered. Likewise with publishers, which can be selected and/or entered. Geographic location could be selected where the user could indicate country and/or state/area and/or city/town.
In addition, the system would be a linker to the articles, whereby the articles would be hosted at the creator or author's site. However, the system would also contain the capabilities for creating the articles and hosting them, with complete control of articles by the authors.
There's a lot more to it, like the ability to classify articles and authors according to ideology.
The system I'm describing is not a just a wish. I already have such a system working, although not implemented yet.
The reason for my development of the system is precisely what we're talking about in this discussion related to Google and all other sites which don't play "fair and balanced". If implemented correctly, I believe it could take a huge amount of traffic from Google and Bing, and especially the other media sources, such as the NY Times and CNN and FOX and HuffPo and all others that host news/information/views/analysis.
I could probably demo the system, but right now, it would have to be via a remote network setup.
