The letter she wrote to her family before the birth of Trig gives us a glimpse into the soul of the penultimate "NON-quitter."
In her email Palin imagines a letter from God to the family about to launch on its challenging child-rearing experience together.
"Then, I put the idea in your hearts that his name should be 'Trig', because it's so fitting, with two Norse meanings: "True" and "Brave Victory"."
"I've given Trig's mom and dad peace and joy as they wait to meet their new son. I gave them a happy anticipation because they asked me for that.I'll give all of you the same happy anticipation and strength to deal with Trig's challenges, but I won't impose on you... I just need to know you want to receive my offer to be with all of you and help you everyday to make Trig's life a great one."
"This new person in your life can help everyone put things in perspective and bind us together and get everyone focused on what really matters. The baby will expand your world and let you see and feel things you haven't experienced yet. He'll show you what "true, brave victory" really means."
*~*~*
She did not quit on her baby, which 90% of her peers choose to do away with. She did not quit on her family, and above all, she did not quit on her GOD. She did not quit her faith for the sake of convenience or self-preservation, but prepared her heart for sacrifice and the unknown.
GOD does not reward quitters.
Your people? Seriously? You know, when you say the same things as the current AG, Michael Moore and people at DU ('Palin's a quitter' blah, blah, blah), it may be time to stop, reflect and revise your rhetoric.
pssssst...Star Wars was not real life....don’t tell anybody.
Are you kidding! Better that we have four and possibly eight years of obama’s destruction just so long as palin’s image remains untarnished....you are nuts.
Palin had the most successful record of endorsements, and pushing the primaries to the right that we have ever seen.
I liked that.
I submit this thread as Exhibit A in defense of my post: With regard to Sarah Palin, I see two common types of posts (neither being 'good' IMHO): 1) she can do no wrong and is our ONLY hope (um, no); and 2) she can do no right, will never be able to win, blah, blah, blah (could have come straight from DU). FR is better than this.

Resigning is the EXACT opposite of quitting? In what universe? Certainly not on earth.
From the thesaurus....
Main Entry: resign
Part of Speech: verb
Definition: give up responsibility
Synonyms: abandon, abdicate, bail out, bow out, capitulate, cease work, cede, demit, divorce oneself from, drop, drop out, end service, fold, forgo, forsake, give notice, give up the ship, hand in resignation, hand over, hang it up, leave, ***quit***, relinquish, renounce, retire, secede, separate oneself from, sign off, stand aside, stand down, step down, ***surrender***, terminate, ***throw in the towel***, turn over, vacate, waive, walk out, wash hands of, ***yield***
Resign = quit, surrender, throw in the towel, yield.
You are flipping nuts if you really believe that you can re-define the language for the American voter.
And, the fact that you feel you have to re-define words to mean the opposite of what they do just shows how desperate you are.
Be definition, resignation can never be the antonym of quitting.
The Mainstream media isn’t real truth...
I hope the media asks her the question.
That question is a softball pitch that Palin will use to her advantage as it gives her an opportunity to give a spontaneous and moving answer about America, her beloved Alaska, the biased media, the personal destruction of liberal politics, and her wildly successful, conservative, national crusade, every time a reporter is dumb enough to bring it up, it wont take long for them to quit laying up that pitch if she decides to run.
Yeah, sparky but you are the one quoting Hollywood to defend/explain Palin’s quitting, remember?
Now you are really starting to blow some serious smoke.
You are now claiming she beats Eisenhower and Goldwater? You people truly are out there in LA LA land!
Nice try but no cigar. You even had to cross out the word quit.
Denial is NOT a river in Egypt. Hmmm Egypt, Cleopatra, hmmm Hey Sarah.....
The birth of a new term today, mark it on your calendar for future celebrations.
The Non-Quitter
or would it be
The Non-Resigner
:-)
They would call it “PDS”;
Palin Denial Syndrome. (What’s good for the goose is good for the gander.)
Do you think that truth can be found in fiction?
Do you believe the idea that a person can become more powerful as a symbol or as an influence is a real concept?
Knowing the culture you are working is allows people to have a way of communicating more effectively than being aloof from the culture.
People know Star Wars. The concept that Obi-Wan won by sacrificing himself is played out through not only the history of literature, but in actual history itself.
Like Jeanne d’Arc or De Molay, their deaths inspired their followers to carry on in their spirit.
Likewise, if Palin had not willingly stepped aside in Alaska, she would not be wielding the power she is today.
But sorry to interfere in your “real life”.
Show me some numbers, did Goldwater or Eisenhower lead the right to such a historical sweep, and not just a Republican sweep, but a far more conservative sweep than the GOP intended?
I don’t think so, in fact Goldwater didn’t lead us to victory over anything, not the Senate, nor the Congress, not to mention the state legislatures, and the Governorships, we did take the Senate during Eisenhower’s Presidential victory, but it didn’t equal what Palin did in 2010.
By the way Goldwater lead the Republican party back from the huge defeat in which he endorsed Ronald Reagan and was very influential in helping get Reagan elected.
Lib hacks who have brought complaints said they do not consider their efforts frivolous ...
"I must defend against these baseless ethics accusations out of my own pocket as the use of public monies to do so could itself violate state law," Palin wrote.
"Obviously we cannot afford to personally pay these bills -- and really no future governor should feel the sense of financial vulnerability at the hands of those with a political vendetta bent on personal destruction," Palin wrote. "Some have suggested a legal fund to pay these bills. We'll have to pursue that." [it was determined that this would have set off a new round of bogus 'ethics' complaints, which IMHO left Sarah Palin with no acceptable choice but to resign. Blame nutty Alaskan FOIA rules.]
Oh, I see youre from Michigan. That explains everything.
Trying to create a myth of sacrifice will not fly with the 65-70 million American voters she would need to get elected.
