The letter she wrote to her family before the birth of Trig gives us a glimpse into the soul of the penultimate "NON-quitter."
In her email Palin imagines a letter from God to the family about to launch on its challenging child-rearing experience together.
"Then, I put the idea in your hearts that his name should be 'Trig', because it's so fitting, with two Norse meanings: "True" and "Brave Victory"."
"I've given Trig's mom and dad peace and joy as they wait to meet their new son. I gave them a happy anticipation because they asked me for that.I'll give all of you the same happy anticipation and strength to deal with Trig's challenges, but I won't impose on you... I just need to know you want to receive my offer to be with all of you and help you everyday to make Trig's life a great one."
"This new person in your life can help everyone put things in perspective and bind us together and get everyone focused on what really matters. The baby will expand your world and let you see and feel things you haven't experienced yet. He'll show you what "true, brave victory" really means."
*~*~*
She did not quit on her baby, which 90% of her peers choose to do away with. She did not quit on her family, and above all, she did not quit on her GOD. She did not quit her faith for the sake of convenience or self-preservation, but prepared her heart for sacrifice and the unknown.
GOD does not reward quitters.
Shouldn’t there be an asterisk after “Non-Quitter”?
What does this author mean by “penultimate non-quitter?” Penultimate means second to the last. Does this, then, mean second-to-the-last non-quitter? I’m perplexed, flummoxed, confounded.............
“If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine.”
WeePING!
well, the ultimate model of anything good is always Christ — so I was thinking of using “penultimate” as a way of “a level right underneath ultimate” —but maybe “ultimate” would have been more correct and appropriate. :)
Again:
She did not quit on her baby. She did not quit on her family, and above all, she did not quit on her GOD. She did not quit her faith for the sake of convenience or self-preservation, but prepared her heart for sacrifice and the unknown.
Absolutely Beautiful!!!
Your screenname is most appropriate.
Sarah Palin leaves the press conference announcing her resignation. This is NOT the face of a quitter, but one who is saying, "Look out Libs; I'm attacking in a different direction!"
I read that ‘letter from God’ that Sarah Palin wrote to her family and friends to lovingly announce the impending birth of her ‘special’ son, Trig and I was very moved by it, as any person with an ounce of compassion would be. It shows Sarah Palin’s character in a way no speech or TV appearance ever can. For those of us who have long admired this lady, it deepened our support and for those Freepers who have been ambivalent about Palin and may want another politician as the 2012 Republican presidential nominee, based in any part on the ‘quitter’ label the left has tried to pin on her, you may want to take another look. Sarah Palin’s love for her newborn child doesn’t qualify her to be president, but it does indicate a person with real compassion, not the false ‘group compassion the left likes to brag about. Palin’s compassion is authentic, just as she is in every other way. God bless her.
The Democrats attacked her regularly with ethics complaints and scandals and untruths.
The biggest untruth is that she quit in Alaska as Governor.
In reality she left in order to do what was best for her State, which was suffering because of attacks on her.
I haven’t seen anything other than her campaigning for McCain which I can hold against her, and I choose to give her a breakk on that.
If she runs I will vote for her and I will send her a check, if she doesn’t run and the RINO’s put in Romney I will write her name in.
Watching the debates I saw no winner. Just a pack of wannabee’s.
Here here Venturer! And isn’t it a blessing that McCain DID lose and that she didn’t become VP? She would have had to be associated with all kinds of RINO initiatives and such and it may have damaged her legacy...No, Palin is called to be nothing less than “top dog.” :)
Wait a minute. I thought we are constantly told by the MSM that Palin is illiterate and not intellectually curious. How can she be rattling off definitions about old Norse words?
which is why I closed the post with "GOD does not reward quitters."
Quitting goes against every fiber of her body, it's completely opposed to her very nature. Her resignation was NOT quitting. It was the EXACT opposite. And thankfully once she's President, she will have protections that she was not afforded as Governor in Alaska when she was being hounded and bankrupted by all sorts of frivolous lawsuits thrown at her by Obama, DNC, and Romney-operatives who were so threatened by her, they camped out in her state after the election was over.
Don't retreat. RELOAD!
SHE DID NOT RETREAT. SHE RELOADED, AND SHE WILL HAVE THE FINAL VICTORY. "TRIG" means "TRUE, BRAVE VICTORY."
I don’t think I’ve ever met a person who would have handled this with the grace and compassion that Sarah Palin did.
That’s the day she first said “Game On”, only no words were spoken., the face says it all.
What if she doesn’t run?
As Adrienne Ross of Conservatives4Palin.com so aptly stated, “you can’t chase someone who isn’t running.”
So, until the media and public stops chasing her: she’s running.
That is a Denali sized mound of 200 proof bullshit if there ever was one.
