Anyone looking forward to corn on the cob slathered with butter this summer may find that it has become an expensive part of their diet. Or it not be available at all.
(Excerpt) Read more at examiner.com ...
Only one thing though: China eats relatively small amounts of corn compared to the USA. Indeed, corn-based products is not part of Chinese cuisine—thank G*d! It’s far more critical that China has enough rice and wheat, since rice is critical in southern Chinese cuisine and what is critical in northern Chinese cuisine.
She is wrong. The corn she is writing about would be feed corn not corn for human consumption. What will happen is that feed prices will go up which in turn will mean that the price of meat will go up. But that “silver queen” yummy white corn you eat at BBQ that will be pricier for the usual reasons of drought, flood, increase in farming costs, etc. But it is not being used for ethanol.
I agree; but most of what they say are lies designed to lower our moral. Besides the ethanol scam people have to make their money back by still stealing and conning and the government has to continue its one way destruction of America to one world government where sickos reign.
Selling 12 for $3.00 here.
Am upset that it is 5/$1 this year but still affordable.Lsat year it was 10/$1.
Ethanol made from corn and the need of farmers to feed their livestock is also putting pressure on the market.
Ethanol has to be one of the best examples of governmental stupidity and corruption that created supply distortions and gave rise to an economic disaster. Too bad none of our schools will ever use this as a case study.
It takes an examiner blog pimp to come up with crap like this. Venture, over to that boll weavel infested site at your own risk.
“Ever heard of a DDG? Probably not.”
As a Navy vet, I assume you’re referring to a guided missile destroyer. Are you probably wrong?
plant our own too most of it gets frozen for winter.
4 ears = 8.95 here in the Alaska bush
They are staying on the shelf because I don’t need corn that badly.
Distiller Dry Grains(goods). This is the protein by-product from ethanol production. The starch, which is not food, is used to create ethanol. Most of the protein is then sold back to the market, usually in the form of feed for meat products.
I will admit, it is not near as in interesting as a guided missile destroyer.
It is more profitable right now to grow corn to be used to feed livestock and produce it to be used for ethanol. That is why the hoarding is going on, to push up the price. Some farmers believe they can make more money by raising it for those purposes rather than for human consumption. It is called Free Enterprise.
The Amish here get $4.00 a dozen ears. I never heard of field corn selling for that.
OK, thanks for the explanation as I was not aware of this byproduct. I literally read your question Ever heard of a DDG?" so your use of the article threw me off a bit as I was assuming a singular noun. Obviously I've spent too much time reading the fine print in contracts. LOL.
I will grant you that DDGs are a plus for Ethanol but there is a long list of unintended consequences. Even Al Gore has admitted that his support for Ethanol was a politically driven mistake and that its benefits are "trivial". Regards.
