Distiller Dry Grains(goods). This is the protein by-product from ethanol production. The starch, which is not food, is used to create ethanol. Most of the protein is then sold back to the market, usually in the form of feed for meat products.
I will admit, it is not near as in interesting as a guided missile destroyer.

OK, thanks for the explanation as I was not aware of this byproduct. I literally read your question “Ever heard of a DDG?" so your use of the article threw me off a bit as I was assuming a singular noun. Obviously I've spent too much time reading the fine print in contracts. LOL.

I will grant you that DDGs are a plus for Ethanol but there is a long list of unintended consequences. Even Al Gore has admitted that his support for Ethanol was a politically driven mistake and that its benefits are "trivial". Regards.
