I got a giant economy box of Rice Krispies for $1.25 the other day. I haven’t seen any steak for $1 a pound recently.
I’m tempted to. This guy used to be a Hollywood scriptwriter (long ago) and wrote for shows like Adam 12. Now he steals all his movies and TV shows on the newsgroups. The hypocrisy is amazing.

Yep. Several years ago, I was standing behind a woman at the checkout counter. She had lobster and steaks. I was thinking “Sure would be nice to have that”. She paid for it with food stamps. I thought, “What the heck, maybe it’s an anniversary”. I went out and saw her get into her new Ford Pickup.

The brand name large cereal boxes at supermarkets are more like $4.50-$5.50 around here. Bagged and store brand less. Occasionally the dollar stores will have smaller cartons for their namesake buck.
I’d like to say I’m surprised...
My personal fave is being in line behind a woman half again my size who lets the cashier run up the full total for her cart and then announcers that she doesn't have enough in food stamps to pay for it. Then has the clerk help her select out enough stuff to make the totals meet.
I actually heard one guy tell the perp to go ahead and take it because he'd got the difference down to "only three dollars".
After that comes the guy (last week) who parked his Mercedes across two handicapped spaces while his kid sauntered into a restaurant, spent about five minutes inside, and then sauntered back to the car. When I left they were still sitting there and the police apparently had other things to take care of.

I did not imply that all people drawing food stamps were of low morality. The single person I was referring to is the owner of the receipt.
