The research has been going on for years, it looks like Rossi is ready to hit the ground running.

If this is true, the greens will want it outlawed immediately.

Cheap energy = prosperity = SUVs, and we can't allow that.

A cheap, Abundant and stable supply of Energy will do nothing but fuel the thirst for freedom. This must be stopped now. $10 says Obama denounces it and makes it ILLEGAL in the US.

According to claims - 1Mw plant from 300 Ecats. Works out to 3300 watts per Ecat. I’m thinking that there might be a market in the home generation market. Two of these puppies and I could not only negate my current electric bill, but I could be selling energy back to the grid. It would be interesting to see a cost model to see if that would be viable.

Have any of these devices ever been provided to an independent test lab to be operated, or have there only been demonstrations by the inventors? Do the inventors understand how it supposedly work? The articles I've seen say no to both, although I just did a quick Google search.

Sounds like somebody is set to hit the ground running...to a Caribbean bank that is.

Two big areas come to mind:

1. Technical. Someone has to do the work of characterizing the E-Cat device from an engineering point of view so that other engineers can then figure out what all can really be done with the thing.

2. Economic/Political. Look at who tries to pass laws against it, put it out of business, or tax it to death. Or tax you for NOT buying more electricity than you have in the past.

i understand the eCat is a small cube producing energy somehow.

would it be viable to power a single residence?

how much would a single eCat cube cost?

how long would it last?

e-catworld.com - yeah, now there’s a credible source...not.

I looked at their international (PCT) patent application (and so can you) - very vague, hardly workable, won’t be granted in most countries in the national phase, IMO. The proverbial crock of sh!t. The solution to the world’s energy needs and they can’t even do a proper patent application? I think not!

Scam.

If there were any evidence or proof we would have seen it. It's 2011. It's not hard to put a 24/7 webcam on the device.

I’ve always thought that (regardless of the long odds) some farm-boy in Iowa who tinkers around in the barn with salvaged hardware, would invent something akin to a warp-drive-battery for cars or something that would obviate the need for gas in the family car. And he would post it all on the web, soup to nuts, for all to see & replicate.

Then, we could tell the arabs to drink their oil, because we wouldn’t be needing it. Oh, and a bushel of grain would from that point on cost them $100, subject to arbitrary OGEC* price manipulations.

I know it’s “Wishful Thinking”, but that doesn’t mean it’s not fun to wish for.

I hope they have it right.
I wish them success in all their endeavors.
If this is for real, the market will decide in short order.
