I don't normally ask for prayer requests often but this is a second recent one in a short span for me.
My mom's pet, Cleo, is having some problems that are life-threatening. She had a blockage in her gi tract and the vet was able to get it out and she survived the surgery, but she is still not eating on her own and mom has been syringe feeding her and doctoring her, which has been taking its toll on her as well.
This kind of thing would not be as dangerous or life threatening if Cleo was a dog or cat, but she is a house rabbit and these guys are grazers/continual nibblers and their gi tract needs to pretty much be in working shape all the time. She has survived a week after the surgery but isn't eating on her own yet which she ought to be by now.
Mom has a special bond to this little one as she can basically hold her, and she will just relax and fall asleep in mom's arms and be very happy. Right now mom has reached the end of what she can do financially, and the vet is giving Cleo another day of treatment without charge, to see if he can do something to get her better. Mom is praying fo God's will, she already has had a talk with Cleo if God takes her back. Cleo knows we have not given up on her or abandoned her, as rabbits often (as prey animals) give up if they think they are all alone, they often lose the will to live.
If you can offer any prayers for my mom and Cleo, I certainly would appreciate it. Mom named her Cleo because she is an all white little fuzzball with black-rimmed eyes. SHe also thinks she's queen of the house too!

My dad was a simi-professional magician and when I was in high school we had several rabbits and we were surprised by how great of a pet they make. Even had them box trained. We had 2 dogs and the rabbits thought they were dogs and the dogs treated them as part of the pack.
Their intelligence levels and ability to have a relationship with people is on par with dogs and cats. They are very social animals being pack (hierarchical) animals too. They just aren’t built for rough and tumble stuff and their digestive system places them closer to cows and horses (grazers) and that is very delicate compared to people/dog/cat gi tracts.
I will send a prayer for Cleo and your Mom.
Creator God, I pray that You would restore Cleo, that she would continue to delight Secret’s beloved Mom. Look with mercy upon these two, O Lord, and be for them the Great Physician that they need. And may the efforts of the Vet be rewarded with a great stirring of Cleo's appetite.

Prayers for your mother’s pet.
OK. I’ll say a prayer.
We have a rabbit that has brought a great deal of joy to our lives. The down side is their relatively short life span.
Please consider taking your Mom out bunny shopping. You can say the little bunny will cheer up Cleo.
I’ve been praying this many times through the night for Cleo, for your mom and for the great doc that’s taking care of her. Often when someone is ill or troubled I pray it to The Lord on their behalf, and I’ve found it to be very powerful:
Psalm 91
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

I’ve had many cats in my life, but the one REALLY special one was my Cleo.
She was a beautiful petite tortoiseshell, and EVERY night when I laid on the bed she’d cuddle in my arms and purr me to sleep.
She lived to be eighteen, we lost her in 2003. Still miss her.

Wanted to just give an update as to what I know about where things are this afternoon.
FIrst I want to thank everyone who has and is still praying for my mom, Cleo, and her vet.
Cleo is still here today, the vet said she has ate a small amount of carrot and broccoli since last night. They are giving her critical care via a feeding syringe. She appears a little jaundiced. I found two items to mention to the vet that he could give her to help her liver and kidneys and gi tract. Basically with any animal when they don’t eat enough the body starts processing its internal fat stores and you can get ‘fatty liver disease’ and this is kind of what goes on. Goes on in people and animals alike. It’s hard on the liver and kidneys. I was able to find a couple things known to help rabbits’ livers and kidneys when they have such a problem. In Cleo’s case it will also help to keep her gut hydrated well, which is critical for her at this point.
The vet is continuing to look after Cleo for the rest of the weekend at his own expense for my mom. He knows she’s at her limit what hse can do money-wise, and he also has a lot of time and work invested in her. Obviously he loves animals and would not be doing this if he did not think Cleo had a chance at surviving. We are both extremely grateful for him doing this for Cleo and my mom. When all of this is over I am sending him something as a thank-you for all he has done, whatever the outcome is.
Keep Cleo, my mom and this vet in your prayers this weekend. I appreciate everyone who has prayed for them already, I want you to know all of it has helped, and is helping.

Just wanted to give you all an update.
Cleo is still at he vet today, they started the medicine I found that could help her (the vet was already thinking about it, he just didn’t know the dosage for rabbits - I was able to provide him that info). She is eating greens right now and being fed critical care, she is still on IV fluids, but she is also producing output now. She is not back to normal, but all these signs are good. Everyhting can work, she does eat some things on her own, she is getting well hydrated, and she is doing better than yesterday.
For my mom, Cleo, and myself, thank you to all who have prayer for mom, Cleo, and this very generous vet who also wants Cleo to live and get back to normal. All your prayers have been helpful and they all still need them.

Wanted to put an update out for those of you hwo have been praying for my mom, Cleo and the vet.
Mom has Cleo back home as of yesterday afternoon. She still isn’t real interested in food pellets, but she is eating greens and some hay. She is producing output now and mom has been taught to be able to give Cleo sub-q fluids to make sure she stays hydrated well. In summer it is even more important for Cleo, as she is not much of a water drinker normally.
Keep praying for Cleo to recover fully. Thanks again for everyone who has and is still praying for Cleo.
