I like Richard...he’s kind
Four foot, eleven inches or so...
Used to love hearing Simmons on The Stern Show ...
I don’t care who he voted for or what his sexual orientation is, he’s always seemed kind and caring. I’ve seen several interviews with him and seems to also be genuine in his deeds.
As much as we can make fun of Richard Simmons (I will never forget Sam Kinison having sport at the “Sweating to the Oldies” video set), he seems like a genuinely nice guy. And he doesn’t promote fad diets. Flame On!
He is a business owner, pays taxes, he isn’t taking government handouts, he isn’t breaking the law, he provides a service in a free enterprise system. Chances are, he isn’t that thrilled with your sexual orientation either. ;^)
No one can deny the man has helped thousands upon thousands of people and raised them out of the depths of depression and hopelessness.
I like Richard, as well. A genuine gift for what he does, and he does it honestly, with no agenda but what you see.
I hate to interrupt the Richard Simmons love fest (oh, does THAT evoke mental images!), but he’s not always Mr. Nice Guy.
You could look it up.

Richard Simmons rocks!. He defended himself in an Arizona airport against some guy making fun of him and his oldies regimen. Knocked him on his be-hind. He was on Whose Line Is It Anyway years back. It was THE funniest episode I’ve ever seen. He had Wayne Brady sucking his thumb, curled up in the fetal position by the end of the show!
I like Richard Simmons. He’s helped an untold number of people lose weight and feel better about themselves. There are stories galore of people who have written to him and received phone calls from him.
He is who he is, but he doesn’t jump on any homosexual bandwagons - his personal life remains private. Those who have met him personally will probably remember his kindness over his effeminate nature.
