Poll Shows Palin Surge in GOP Primaries
Pundit Press ^ | 5/5/2011 | Thomas Ferdousi

In the last several months there has not been a solid frontrunner in Republican polls for the 2012 nomination. While Mike Huckabee and Mitt Romney have been near the top, neither has been dominant.

Donald Trump was able to surge last month, although where his polls go now is unclear. With much of the attention reverting away from him, he may see a dip in his vote share.

And it appears that may have already happened-- and Sarah Palin has picked up the slack. Palin has reduced her profile over the last several months, cutting back on public speaking events. Many supporters appeared to move towards Minnesota Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann.

Now, in the newest Quinnipiac poll, it appears that the former Alaska Governor has received a new boost in support.

National Republicans:

Romney: 18% Palin: 15% Huckabee: 15% Trump: 12%

It is nice to see the only Reaganite on the field return to the top of the polls.

You simply can not say that on this thread. Reality on this particular thread has been attacked all day.

Every soul agrees with what Sarah Palin says. What is to disagree with for any conservative. She got in trouble for what ever reason she gave, for being a half term governor, losing her platform, and then when she showed herself to be out of touch on basic history. The North Korea from South Korea thing did her in, intellectually, forever. And then Couric asks her a simple question on her reading material and Palin falls apart and refused to answer. ( Said it was an insult to be asked.) Hopes for gravitas disappeared with that remark. She convinced the world she doesn’t read but instead reacts.

She wrote two books and did her outdoor muscle show for girls and made a little money but never used a penny for a tutor. She made a basic political error. It’s called over exposure, until someone finally said put a sock in it and lay back a little. She is pacing her appearances now. But the damage I think will be permanent. It shows in the polls consistently.

You posted TO ME that I supported Grayson over Rand Paul!

You were speaking to ODH and to me. How would that go over with you, when some barb lumps you in with Trey Grayson? Now, because a couple of us are objective and actually read the polls, and don’t happen to believe Sarah has a chance among Independets, we are insulted as if accused of treason.

Don’t you see how badly the Left wants to run against her? Weakness attracts the vultures and that is Sarah in spades, unfortunatly. To that, add that the Republican base will elect no one.

No, that post was to ODH, I only included you as a courtesy because his post that I was responding to, had been to you.

What I have seen from the left since August 29th, 2008, is the greatest fear of a candidate that I have ever seen.

The media fears her and is determined to stop her, it is the Romneys and Daniels, that the media does not try to destroy.

Your comparison is ridiculous. America is not Britain, and this is not 1955.

As for me, I am forced to watch polls because I want the one person who can BEAT Obama head to head, regardless of who it is.

Don't be so trusting of polls, especially this far out from an election. For example the CNN poll is bought and paid for by the same folks who broadcast propaganda.

‘Margaret Thatcher would never have debased herself by doing reality TV with “Kate Plus 8.”’

Or co-star in a movie with a chimpanzee named ‘Bonzo’. Do you have a point you’re trying to make?

Reporting a poll is not to be equated necessarily with “trusting” that poll. I am of the opinion that all polls are propaganda and certainly they are used that way on all sides.

A large number of "voters" that were sampled in this poll are wrong about things.

For example, the blame for high gas prices goes to the oil companies by 40% of the people sampled while the president gets 15% of the blame.

45% of the voters sampled don't want Obamacare repealed, while 44% do.

Does anybody think this is an accurate sample of voters?

Why would we want to pick our candidate based on a sample that seemly aligns itself with Obama?

Anybody?

Reagan made the Bonzo movies long before he was a politician. He then served 2 successful terms as Governor of California. Palin quit midway through her term because she couldn’t take the heat, then sold herself and her family as reality TV stars. Huge difference.
