In the last several months there has not been a solid frontrunner in Republican polls for the 2012 nomination. While Mike Huckabee and Mitt Romney have been near the top, neither has been dominant.
Donald Trump was able to surge last month, although where his polls go now is unclear. With much of the attention reverting away from him, he may see a dip in his vote share.
And it appears that may have already happened-- and Sarah Palin has picked up the slack. Palin has reduced her profile over the last several months, cutting back on public speaking events. Many supporters appeared to move towards Minnesota Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann.
Now, in the newest Quinnipiac poll, it appears that the former Alaska Governor has received a new boost in support.
National Republicans:
Romney: 18% Palin: 15% Huckabee: 15% Trump: 12%

I’m pretty sure that is the same argument that you used when you were pushing the liberal Trey Grayson against Rand Paul for that Senate seat.
Stupid question, Governor Palin’s approval numbers were always high, and usually incredibly high, do you even think about this stuff or do you just knee-jerk left?
You mean they were "usually incredibly high" for the half-term she served, don't you?
We can only imagine where her numbers would have ended because she quit long before her term ended.
” Im pretty sure that is the same argument that you used when you were pushing the liberal Trey Grayson against Rand Paul for that Senate seat. ‘ ===============
What nerve. Your handle is fitting. You really are ancillary to any arguement, by more than 112 degrees, so long as it’s grounded in the tyranny of idealogical purity. Flailing away with accusations, name calling and manufactured imaginations that defy reality is so unattractive. Do you even vote? Or do you just run your high horse right past the ballot booth in a cloud of dust?
First, Paul performed so poorly in the weeks immediately after his primary win, his lead dropped to double-digits. Then, he maintained virtual radio silence for the rest of the campaign. That was a smart move.
But, am I surprised that a Republican won a Senate Seat being vacated by a Republican in a Republican state in an overwhelming Republican in a mid-term election? No, I am not surprised. And, I think Paul has done well in his first few months.
I realize you probably aren't smart enough to understand this, but the US is not Kentucky. Barack Obama is not an inexperienced opponent, and Sarah Palin is wildly unpopular and doesn't come ANYWHERE close to leading Obama in head-to-head matchups, let alone leading by 25% like Paul did before his primary.
But sure, if you want to continue your straw man arguments, please, don't let me stop you. You're entertaining me - it's like watching monkeys throw feces at one another.
He’s gone to look up “ancillary”.
That is Senator Paul to you.
Like I said, it gets tiresome having to run into you pushing liberalism against the conservative in race after race, you make so many threads turn into the same routine, freepers having to deal with you pushing liberalism.
The same arguments that the conservative can’t win, no matter the race, over and over. Your agenda sucks.
You have made claim after claim about Palin's popularity, but haven't offered a SINGLE poll to offer as proof. And, this is what's most telling, every time someone points out how INSANELY unpopular Sarah Palin is withe general electorate and even with Republicans, you either ignore the fact, or you attack the messenger.
The American public thinks Sarah Palin is a joke, and no matter how many insults you throw at people who dare recognize this incredibly self-evident fact, won't change the reality.
And, that's former half-term Governor, to you.
Still looking, apparently.

Palin isn't from California and never lived there, so how could she have become governor of California? That is a flawed comparison and you know it. She was Alaska's first female governor, and had great poll numbers until the Obama camp sent the media to destroy her. And you know it.
You're citing Cato Institute as a source on a conservative blog like FR?
If OldDeckHand can get the conversation off of the conservative agenda and on to himself, then he wins, that is why he trolls these threads like this one.
What? Where did I say that Palin should have been the governor of California?
But, we do agree on one thing - there is no comparison to be made between Palin & Reagan. Experientially, they have almost nothing in common. Their records of personal experience as an executive, couldn't be more different in terms of "heft".
Lastly, if you don't recognize or understand the impact of someone's record on their gravitas - which was what I was examining and distinguishing - I don't think you can be helped. OF COURSE, the scope and breadth of someone's professional experience bears on their gravitas. Reagan managed an enormously complicated and economically diverse state. Palin didn't - and in fact, what Palin managed wouldn't have amounted to the 5th biggest city in Reagan's state. If you can't understand the contrast in those realities as it relates to their wildly differing levels of gravitas, then you're just not paying attention.
As it relates to taxing & spending? You betcha.
If you don't understand why, then you probably went to public school. I'm sorry.
I just saw your post, it was awfully silly.
He's a troll all right, at least on Palin threads.
Percentage who would never vote for each candidate
Palin 58%
Trump 58%
Gingrich 42%
Huckabee 32%
Bachmann 29%
Paul 27%
Romney 26%
Yes, this is confirmed by Rassmussen. Sarah’s negatives are very high. I don’t understand why though.
