The freedom of speech is perhaps the most popular among those cited in the Bill of Rights. The ability to express yourself without fear of fine or incarceration is essential to the maintenance of a free society. Jihad Watch director Robert Spencer, a prolific author on the topic of Islam, has an important article at Human Events suggesting that free speech may be endangered.
On Good Friday in Dearborn, Mich., the notorious Koran-burning pastor Terry Jones was jailed and fined for the crime of refusing to pay a so-called “peace bond” to cover the costs of extra police protection for Jones’ planned demonstration outside the Islamic Center of America in Dearborn. Judge Mark Somers also ordered Jones to stay away from the massive Dearborn mosque for three years.Spencer points out that Jones was not the threat to public order that Dearborn authorities treated him as. Rather, the threat to public order was the prospect of violent reaction from Muslims.

Jones is not responsible for the reactions of others. It is the violence, and not the speech, which ought to be subject to police action. Instead, the Detroit Free Press reports that authorities have those priorities reversed...... To restrict Jones’ right to protest in front of a mosque is to send the signal that violent intimidation works, and that those who killed people in Afghanistan because of Jones’ Koran-burning have achieved their ultimate goal: to make Islam immune from criticism because every potential critic will be afraid to speak out.

The proper response here is an unannounced “Flash Mob” protest for about fifteen minutes, then disperse about the time the cops show up.
Repeat at random intervals and locations.
The other step is for a few dozen people around the country/world to burn, piss on, shred, and otherwise mangle the Quoran at random locations.
Make it a daily occurrence and “LE” will be powerless to prosecute, the Muzzy Zealots will be frustrated too.

What this does as much as anything is to put in to stark relief the picture of what life will be like in the US if Islam is not defeated in its efforts to bring sharia law to our country.
Not that I necessarily disagree, but I’m just curious.

At first I didn’t know what to think of Pastor Jones, or of him burning the Koran. Now I’m beginning to see... its like thumping a hornets nest.
Its evening time and you think the hornets have moved on or died out, so you decide you’ll thump it with a stick and stand clear... you thump and voila, hornets storm out of the nest looking for an ass to burn. America has dozed off. She has decided maybe Islam is OK now; there should be no worries; give in to Islam’s demands and they’ll let us live in peace. Obama feeds Black Islam in the US and bows to Islam in the Middle East. America is cowed into complacence.
Then along comes Jones and thumps the nest. Problem for America now seems to be Jones and not the poison of Islam. Instead of eradicating the problem, America punishes the one who reminds everyone exactly what the real problem is... instead she gives Islam a wide birth, but she doesn’t stop there, she has become Islam’s protector and punisher. WTF!

That may be the only thing that will work. Get there, do your protest, do a fast getaway. Have some friends in cars stationed along your departure route in case people try to chase you with the purpose of doing violence.
