The entire lib/Dem/socialist/0dumboite conglomeration has gone nuts. I have never seen such vile hateful lying rants as I have the past 2 months.
These people, from 0dumbo on down are saying anything and everything they can to paint conservatives/ Republicans as evil people.
and still 0dumbo’s approval ratins drop
so hopefully most people aren’t buying it

...in 2000 GWBush took over he cut taxes THAT YEAR and revenue took a dive (immediately) and the jobs fled overseas.

A) GWB didn't take over until 2001, but we'll let that one slide.

B)If all the jobs fled overseas, how did we end up with a 4.5% unemployment rate?

C) What's an Ed Schultz?

Schultz is right.

Bush did cut taxes.

Everything did go bad.

Problem with his reasoning is that the two facts are not related.

Cutting taxes had nothing to do with bringing down the World Trace Center or escalating the War on Terror.

Kennedy, Reagan & GW Bush all cut taxes and the economy flourished.

I guess history is an an anathema to the left?

Let’s see. In 2008 I had a good job that I had held for seven years, large 401K, sports car and some nice guitars for fun.

Today, my 410K is largely gone due to a year of unemployment and my new job pays half what I made and 0 benefits. Also gone are my sports car and guitars except the cheapos.

FU Ed.

The depression started in August of 2000 during Clinton’s watch. There were massive layoffs and companies crashing. The liberal media tried to not report it all until Bush took office, then they reported every sadsack they could get the cameras in front of.

Back when Ed was on at 6pm EST there was this one liberal black lady at the gym who would watch The Ed Show (on one of the TVs) every night while he would be ranting about how all Republicans and Tea Party activists are racist and hurt the ‘working man’ and how Obama was making everything better.

Checkout the above post.

Democrats are absolutely shameless about distorting economic reality.

Consider that during the election cycle of 1992, George Bush the elder lost his job after Bill Clinton hammered him relentlessly for having caused the “worst economy of the last 50 years.” But in fact, as CNN’s Brooke Jackson has reported: “Three days before Christmas 1992, the National Bureau of Economic Research finally issued its official proclamation that the recession had ended 21 months earlier. What became the longest boom in U.S. history actually began nearly two years before Clinton took office.”

Clinton is generally perceived as having a stellar economic record during his own presidency, in spite of the fact that the economy was already starting to decline during the last year of his term after the stock market crashed in March 2000. According to a 2003 report by MSNBC: “The longest economic expansion in U.S. history faltered so much in the summer of 2000 that business output actually contracted for one quarter, the government said Wednesday in releasing a comprehensive revision of the gross domestic product. Based on new data, the Commerce Department said that the GDP — the country’s total output of goods and services — shrank by 0.5 percent at an annual rate in the July-September quarter of 2000.”

When GW Bush correctly warned the American voters about the nation’s declining economic performance during the 2000 presidential campaign, the same Democrats who had loudly criticized his father for “the worst economy in fifty years” had no problem at all accusing him of “talking down the economy.”

Bush inherited a recession from Clinton which was triggered in part by the Dot.Com bust in 1999. This recession was exasperated by the 9/11 attacks on New York's financial district and didn't end until after Bush signed the tax cuts into law. Clinton and HUD secretary Andrew Cuomo helped create the current crisis by lowering lending standards at Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac and placing Franklin Raines and Jamie Gorelick on the board. Raines fabricated number gains for the institutions to increase annual bonuses for himself and the board. This criminal fraud also had the effect of forestalling public awareness that Fannie and Freddie were insolvent.

I won't call Schultz a liar because he is dumb enough to believe what he is saying.

If memory serves me correctly (and I was trying to rearrange my stocks and bonds and considering early retirement in 2000), the recession was here before GWB was sworn in and the market bottomed out in March 2000. AND also there was no mythical Klintoon surplus.

It's time to scrap the code and go to the flat tax, or the "Fair" tax.

We're all getting pretty weary of over 40% of the people paying NO tax, and the tax we pay going to subsidize their hideous lifestyles.

The FLAT or FAIR tax would equalize things a lot better...and probably bring in much more revenue.

It is not the place of the rich to support the rest of us.

We can stop ALL the class warfare arguments of the left by only voting for candidates that support an unencumbered Balanced Budget amendment, a term limits amendment, a repeal the 16th Amendment while replacing it with a Fair Tax amendment with NO DEDUCTIONS FOR ANYTHING OTHER THAN MORTGAGE INTEREST AND CONTRIBUTIONS FOR NON POLITICAL ENTITIES. We have got to get control of Congress (both houses) with a veto proof majority to roll back 70 years of persistent creeping Socialism.

Actually, everything didn’t start going bad until 2006, when the Dems took control of Congress.

Ed is like a blind pig stumbling around until it almost finds an acorn. He’s on to something here but it isn’t what he thinks it is. Bush cut taxes for the middle class in 2001 and it reinforced a problem that has been going on for several decades. Lots of benefits not just to the poor, but also to the middle class, with most of the tax burden on the rich. The middle class is not forced to choose between taxes and spending. They can have it all with the way our tax code has been amended.
