Apparently thats what a survival expert is saying.
My opinion? Unless theres a real threat to you, leaving your safe, stocked, defensible home, where you know your neighbors, where you have a job and means to support yourself in a complicated economic time, lets say its not the smartest thing to do.

You should immediately store months and months of real food, several weeks go by very, very fast. The price of food is skyrocketing as we speak. Get basic stuff.

Ah, you do have more slippery ice there, at times--not as dry. I run on Hankook, Winter I-Pike tires with studs (directional treads). Yeah, I know, they're Korean, but they're the best that I've ever run on ice and snow over passes. ...also great for stability on 4WDs with limited slip or locking rear ends. Maybe they'll work well up there, too, if the law there allows studs. And they're cheap.
It's snowing here now.

I've been stocking up on chocolate syrup! Lasts a whole lot longer than candy if it's unopened.

Adaptability is going to be key.
I like your post.
Prepping is great. But arrogantly thinking one has it made is probably just as dangerous as the reverse, panicking.
This will be like nothing we've ever been through and who knows how long it will last? Flexibility and adaptability and keeping one's head - along with prepping - will help us survive.

I’m already IN the hills.
It’s very nice here. Protected, as they say, by the good Lord and a gun.
