Palin To GOP: Hit Em With Your Purse, Boys!
jenkuznicki.com ^ | 4/18/11 | Jen Kuznicki

Palin is right. The nation sent the GOP to DC in big numbers to FIGHT! And if they can't figure out how, watch how the girls do it.

Sarah Palin laid it down in Madison, Wisconsin in a speech that was called "blistering" and "withering" and demonstrated what the American people want the leadership of the GOP to do. It is not just what she said, but where she said it. The union battle in Wisconsin is the hot spot for revolutionary change.

The 2011 budget battle has been spun as a "historic" deal by the GOP House Leadership, but the numbers don't add up. The Speaker has his own talking points, and I'm sure Palin's speech doesn't sit too well with him, but what he thinks is not important. Like Reagan, Palin goes over the heads of the politicians, and makes a case to the American people.

"Because let me tell you what isn’t courageous: It’s politicians promising the American voters that, as we drown in $14.5 trillion debt, that they’re going to cut $100 billion out of this year’s budget. But then they cave on that and they reduce it down to $61 billion after they get elected. Then they get in there and they strike a deal and decide, nah, they will reduce that down to $38 billion. And then after some politics-as-usual and accounting gimmicks, we find out it’s not $38 billion in cuts. You know that $38 billion – we don’t have it; we’re borrowing it. We borrow from foreign countries to give to foreign countries, and that’s insanity. We find out it’s not even $38 billion; it’s less than $1 billion in real cuts. Folks, that $352 million in real cuts – that’s no more than the federal government is going to spend in the time it takes us to hold this rally today! That is not courage; that’s capitulation!"

She's damn right--it's capitulation. And it is plainly seen by regular folks. The performance by the leadership in the House establishes a pattern that doesn't sit too well with moms and dads that see their children's future going up in smoke by the actions of a far-left Democratic Party.

And speaking of girls, Michele Bachmann has been the consistent example of what the nation wants their GOP to do. Her fundraising reflects that, making more money than Romney, and with many small $5 to $10 donations, she has an army of folks willing to stand with her. What does she get from the leadership? Bupkis.

In the end, what the leadership thinks of you doesn't matter. The folks who listen to the American people will be strongly re-elected.

More from Palin:

"We didn’t elect you just to re-arrange the deck chairs on a sinking Titanic. We didn’t elect you to just stand back and watch Obama re-distribute those deck chairs. What we need is for you to stand up, GOP, and fight. Maybe I should ask some of the Badger women’s hockey team—those champions—maybe I should ask them if we should be suggesting to GOP leaders they need to learn how to fight like a girl!"

Low blow? Hell no. She's right. We are getting insulted and abused everyday by this administration. To every action there should be an equal and opposite reaction. Fight fire with fire! We are going to be rationed! We are losing control of our everyday lives! What part of all of this does the leadership not understand?

They should be using Newton's third law of motion: Whenever a first body exerts a force F on a second body, the second body exerts a force −F on the first body. F and −F are equal in magnitude and opposite in direction. The action and the reaction are simultaneous.

And that's the point isn't it? We got FORCED for the last two years. Rules, laws, the constitution, nothing mattered to the Democrats. They rule by force, and they still are. Boehner and the gang should be absolutely beside themselves with anger, or at least a little incredulous, for cryin out loud!

Only half of a third doesn't cut it when the House is where the purse is.

The GOP cannot save the red meat for campaign stops in the summer of 2012. We want you to loudly OPPOSE this President.

That was the best speech I’ve seen from her since the 2008 convention. I have to admit, I’d resigned myself to the idea that she probably can’t win cause her negatives are too high and maybe she wouldn’t even run because of it.

Then I saw this speech, and now I think, “why should we let the other side tell us who we are allowed to have as our nominee?” She fights harder than anyone else, and makes more sense than anyone else.

The way I see it, they’re going to try to destroy any nominee we have, so why not go with our best? If she keeps making speeches like that, she can win this!

the only people who say her negatives will make her lose are the beltway people who hate her anyway.

The powers that be still don’t understand the Governor’s influence and why we like her, why we turn out for her.
They’re too busy playing games in DC, we’re tired of games.

And frankly, 14.5 Trillion deficits scare the dickens out of me! It’s time for drastic.

If the debt is raised - and they’ll have to, if they don’t want defaults - then I want cuts as large as the stimulus, as large as the biggest increase in the last two years. All the fluff that doesn’t keep us alive, that can’t be directly tied to protection of our inalienable rights -— which are not the same as our wants and wishes.

This isn’t time for the machete, but it’s time for some serious cutting.

Judging by her example, “fighting like a girl” looks like telling the truth, giving the left fits, and where possible having fun doing it. (Hmm…I think I just summarized the FR mission statement.) Judging by the example of some of her opponents (not all of them men, by the way), “fighting like a man” looks like hiding behind the girl, letting her fight the fights and take the arrows, waiting for her to fall, and then swooping in to take the credit and the spoils. Looking at it that way…I’d rather fight like a girl.

Right now we’re only watching the warmup acts for the Greatest Show on Earth, 2012 edition. The clowns are putting on their makeup, and the dancing elephants are trying on their sequined costumes.

Leave your conventional wisdom at the gate, anything can happen!

If the Republicans can’t fight like men then fight like a bunch of girls.

“That was the best speech I’ve seen from her since the 2008 convention.”

I was thinking that, too. Then when I thought about it, I decided Saturday’s was her best speech EVER. The 2008 speech was remarkable because she was fresh and new and she knocked our socks off. This week, though, she was even better.

I agree, the left and some amongst us forget that a couple of “knocked out of the park” speeches like this can set a candidate on a course directly to the White House. And she doesn’t need a teleprompter...

“Sarah Palin laid it down in Madison, Wisconsin in a speech”

Sarah is the best by far,but shouting doesn’t do her justice. She sounds like Hillary or an x-wife.

Ditto that. And if you haven’t heard it, she was tough as nails in how she delivered it under duress, as there was a large number of union thugs on the periphery making noise, horns, cow bells, chants of “liar,” etc. throughout the whole speech. People think Trump is gutsy for raising the birther issue but he’s got nothin’ on her. Mama Grizzly indeed!

See #14. Raising her voice was probably necessary under the adverse conditions.

Yes indeed. The union goons were out in full force, trying to drown her out. She had to shout. (you can hear them in the vids.)

Perino said she gave a good speech and she’s gonna run. Surprised me. It was a great speech, I watched in live on the web and then again later. It was amazing to wade into the middle of the rent a mob and lay it all down.

no, you have that wrong. Hillary sounds like an ex-wife because she is saying things you don't want to hear. Palin doesn't sound like an ex-wife.

The other side says she sounds like an ex-wife. In my observation, they should have stuck with wife#1 and they wouldn't have turned out so bad.
