1. Did you know that . . . since Jan. 1 of this year (2011), you cannot use your flex-account at work (FSA) or health savings account (HSA) to purchase over-the-counter medicines?

2. Did you know that . . . since July 1 of last year (2010), Americans have been paying a 10 percent excise tax on all indoor tanning services?

3. Did you know that . . . starting in 2018, if your health insurance is “too good” or considered a “Cadillac” plan, then you will incur a new 40 percent tax on your health plan?

4. Did you know that . . . Obamacare has 21 new or higher taxes in it, totaling over $500 billion in increased taxes going to the government over 10 years?

5. Did you know that . . . beginning in 2014, individuals and families that do not purchase “qualifying” -- as defined by federal bureaucrats -- health insurance will be forced to pay a yearly tax penalty?..

11) Did you know that the 1099 reporting requirement for all vendors paid more than $600 during this year has not been repealed and is the law of the land at this time?

Just learned that my daughters, full time college students, cannot stay on our health insurance if the places of their part time employment offer benefits. They are now required to carry their own insurance. If they were employed at places that do not offer health insurance, than they could stay on our insurance. This means, that if your child works part time at a large retailer that offers insurance, they are no longer eligible to stay on their parents plan even when they are dependents and attend school fulltime. My spouse is a Professor at the University of Nebraska and they are currently running an audit to clean off their rolls of ineligible dependents. The rules have been changed where only unemployed, non student adult children are allowed to stay on their parent’s policy, till the age of 26. I am more than shocked. We previously were required to verify college status. Welcome to Obama Care.

I know that my husbands plan will be considered a Cadillac plan, and I know we can't afford a 40% tax on it. One reason he stayed at his present job instead of taking an offered higher paying one was because of the excellent healthcare benefits.

Someone should tell those striking teachers, public workers, etc that their plans are more than likely Cadillac plans, too. Would they rather pay the modest increase a person like Scott Walker is asking for or pay the 40% tax? And that tax is just on healthcare, I am sure there will be many more. I think these people are protesting against the wrong group!

Yes, my husband is a member of a union, but trust me there is a lot more at work here and disagreement going on within certain unions then most people know. People are actually starting to question leadership and question where their dues are going, especially at election time. For far to long, leadership has been chosen by a small group that attends the national union events and those people have a leftist agenda. A lot of people are just now seeing this, but there is a fear of losing jobs without being in the union, and at the same time a distrust and anger with the union itself. I know for many, they feel like they are caught between a rock and a hard place.

Union leaders, who talk about the little guy but take large salaries from their members dues, are realizing that there are many
union members that aren't falling for their BS anymore and are certainly not Socialists. Many members are quite conservative. These union leaders days may be numbered, so they are pushing these scare tactics about losing jobs and salaries and benefits to save their own butts. They count on fear to drive these protests we are now seeing and drag out the SEIU union thugs that help them push their Socialist agenda. They realize there is a fear among the more conservative members that they may indeed lose their jobs, and it is why many stay silent. They count on this.

This is just my opinion. I know the wrath of the anti-union will now rain down on me for being in a union household! But I'm saying that there are more conservative union members than people believe, and they need to stop letting the fringe left control their dues and promote a leftist agenda. Scott Walker and Chris Christie got union member's votes or they wouldn't have been elected. It is only the “us vs them” attitude that keeps union leaders in power and their promotion of mass demonstrations by the clueless. Maybe someone can organize conservative union members, someone with the resources to do so. There is a middle ground, but present union leaders will not let you see anything but what they want you to see.

It’s already been determined unconstitutional in court, why is it still even an issue?
