Terror threats rising as FEMA orders $1 Billion in dehydrated food (Prepper Ping!)

Terror threats appear to be on the rise as FEMA has rushed a $1 Billion order of dehydrated food in the event of attacks on domestic targets in the US.

This is also coming on the heels of one of the largest terror drills performed by the US Navy on American soil, as Operation Solid Curtain is taking place this week.

In an article Tuesday from the Beaufort Observer, many of the largest suppliers of dehydrated foods in the country are dropping their distributors and customers to dedicate their resources to supplying a billion dollar FEMA request and purchase.

Thanks to the Internet and the rise of distributed media, we have access to a vast array of rumors and conjecture involving government activities that quite possibly reflect actual activities that previous generations were never exposed to.

This is one of those instances.

And it is exceptionally unsettling.

Our yard has a lot of roots and not a lot of sun, so a garden is not really an option for us.

Trim back the tree limbs and eliminate a few trees where a garden could go. Make raised beds and do some container gardening.

Maybe get some chickens and rabbits.

Stock up on canned goods from the grocery store. Find creative storage places in your house - under the bed, under the couch, under the bottom drawer of the dresser, the back of a closet, in a trunk, etc. A square milk crate will hold 32 15 oz cans and is not too heavy to lift or carry to another room. They are also stackable. If you can sew, make a cover for the crate that will cover the bottom and the four sides. Add some batting to the bottom to make a child's seat or a footstool and put the cans under it.

A bit south of you, there’s always a short freeze on April 15th. You are probably safe a week after that.

Some of Ragner Benson’s books will be invaluable in a SHTF scenario.

A little about Ragner & a list of his books:

Sorry, I don’t have time to go to the links tonight.

What’s the summary in your own words, if you have the time, please?

I’ve heard unhealthy things leach into the potatoes from the tires. Am not 100% certain. I understand that’s a problem with railroad ties, too.

If it were anyone but *you* posting #5, I'd have laughed in their face.

As it is, you are causing me to go..."hmmmm."

Cheers!

"Stock up at the store on canned goods "

SPAM is worth it's weight in gold.

Protein, calorie dense, salt...tastes wonderful and keeps for at least 5 years with no loss of quality...probably 100, though nobody can keep it around that long lol

the ties i can see, but by time the tires are used for spuds, i think most anything gonna leach out will have done so by then, and if not, there are prolly bigger issues that will kill you first

http://mountainhouse.com/ I checked with a couple of the big freeze dried suppliers - it seems to be true -

http://mountainhouse.com/

http://www.nitro-pak.com/products/freeze-dried-foods

Wonder if freeze dried Kobe Beef has been ordered?

Seriously, I have had a niggling feeling for some months now, ever since I heard ‘bummer say one day, nonchalantly: “America could withstand a nuclear event.”

I have a really uneasy feeling that they would create a wag-the-dog incident, even one as horrendous as this would be - to achieve their goals.

We know they started - I'm tired, was it Kososvo or Bosnia - to dilute the news stories when the bubba/lewinsky story broke. And that was just to cover up a sex scandal!

They wouldn’t think twice about a horrific act in order to declare Martial Law and shut down the Republican Congress AND prevent the 2012 elections. (It will take months for these companies to fill this order - and Marital Law shuts down the gov’t for 6 months before Congress or anyone can make a peep;

I'm thinking Canada may be getting a lot of refugees?

Ya know, I have to believe whiskey is a very valuable commodity in tough times. Right up there with guns.

I can barely keep it around for a month. My husband’s best buddy loves the stuff, so hubby tried it and agreed. He raids my stores when the kitchen cupboard is empty of Spam and I know I am dead out when he grumps that he can’t find the Spam.

A New Madrid gigantic earthquake would be far worse than anything terrorists can do to us.

I hope my daughter moves away from Memphis before it happens.

Is your daughter aware of the danger?
