On MSNBCs Morning Joe this morning, host Joe Scarborough delivered a scathing rant against Glenn Beck. According to Scarborough, Beck is losing it before our eyes and is bad for the conservative movement.
Hes bad for the Republican party. Hes bad for Fox News. Its that simple, Scarborough said, referring specifically to Becks recent work to uncover the socialists, progressives, and unions to the unrest in Egypt and Wisconsin.
Guest commentator Pat Buchanan added that Republicans have a responsibility and a duty to make sure Beck isnt speaking for conservatives.
Scarborough refers to a recent blog post by conservative writer Peter Wehner calling Glenn, The most disturbing personality on cable television. I talk to Pete from time to time and have a good deal of respect for his analysis most of the time. I found his most recent posts on Glenn, however, to be pretty shallow. Its a popular sport to make dramatic denunciations of Beck themes without really engaging in a discussion of the arguments.
Ive been involved in mainstream conservative thought and politics for 25 years and I can assure you that Wehner and Scarborough are mounting a very weak case. Ive worked with many top conservative leaders and politicians. Glenn is about as thoughtful and sincere in his approach to political argument as anyone Ive met. The depth and range of discussion around the Mercury and Blaze offices is the most interesting and electrifying of any place Ive worked.

That's fine....as long as you also stipulate that neither of you two bozos speak for conservatives either.
Hmmm. Has Joe read any of the publications or materials Glenn Beck usually mentions? After all, Glenn says don’t believe him; read it for yourself.
I have never been all that excited about Beck but I do not understand why there is all this animus against him.
Scarborough, on the other hand, has always struck me as being somewhat deranged.
Buchanan? Well... he is sort of like the Mr. Magoo of Conservative politics. Not a really serious voice.
What value does Scarborough add?
I am not a Beck fan either.. but when MSNBC targets him it might mean he has hit on something
Exactly. Well said.
Beck scares me sometimes, but it is the truth that he is presenting, and we have to face up to the truth even when it is frightening.
It’s nice to see the left coast bigots are still drinking the Hollywierd Koolaid.
That’s ok, SE Mom, you’re still ok in my book, lol.
Actually, I’ve heard more than one Freeper say the same thing. I like him, but I suppose he get’s a bit excited about stuff, maybe that’s what keeps me interested. Maybe it’s all of us ADD types that are attracted to watching him, he knows how to hold our attention.
How about Joe’s Morning Diarrhea?
Absolutely nailed it! They are scared to death of Beck, same as they are of Sarah Palin, same as they were of Reagan. The libs/socialists/communists ALWAYS demonize those whom they fear the most, thinking that someone on the fence (i.e. those whom they are trying to influence) will reason "well, they must be right if they're so incredibly upset about this person."
Frankly, if this crowd really believed this about Beck, they'd shut up and let him hang himself, Fox and Conservatism. Hell, they'd give him more rope. But clearly they aren't doing so, and it is because they are scared shiiteless.
On second thought, Scar and Buch are right. Beck IS bad for the republican party. But he’s good for conservatism so I say GOOD FOR BECK!
My mother knew how to treat my ADD. She’d slap be up side the head and scream “Pay attention, boy!”
Pat is a Nixonian Rino. Nixon, the man introduced us to the EPA.
What would it take to make people realize we are in the midst of a communist takeover?
Pretty obvious in their posts.
lol, did it work? Or should I ask, do you like Beck?
I’m sorry. What were we talking about?
; ) witty too
And Scarborough is bad for female interns.
