Do You Believe Obama Was Born in the U.S.? (Poll)

Birthers could decide who wins the GOP presidential primary.

According to a Public Policy poll, a majority of national GOP primary voters believe that President Barack Obama was not born in the U.S. This segment of Republican likely voters also overwhelmingly, at 83 percent, support Sarah Palin for president.

"Any thought that the birther theory has been put to rest can be thrown out the window with this poll," said Dean Debnam, President of Public Policy Polling. "That view is still widely held in Republican circles."

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee still heads the national field for GOP presidential candidates, though his lead is shrinking as Mitt Romney has gained. But the birthers could play a spoiler role there too. They support Huckabee more than Romney, according to the poll.

The poll found that the overwhelming majorities of all the other candidates’ supporters think Palin best for the vice president slot, while everyone, even Palin’s supporters, think Romney is fit for the top ticket.

I don’t know where he was born.

What I do know is that no honest man goes to the trouble Obama has to keep his secrets.

Not only his BC, his college records his Social security, who paid for his education, how did he go to Pakistan?

Too many unknowns and no one bopthering to look into them

Why is the media so intent on helping Obama hide?

I believe that Mr. Obama was born in Hawaii. I also believe that he has gone to extraordinary lengths to conceal certain facts of his early life and citizenship status that would have made him unelectable in 2008 and would have likely denied him the nomination of the Democrat Party.

Given the old addage that the coverup is always much worse than the original misdeed, I believe that if the specifics of his early life that he so wants to conceal were revealed, he would be run out of town on a rail - by both parties.

I do not know...but I do not believe he was.

He does not act like a person who was. He acts like a person trying desperately to hide something.

Heck, I would be proud to prove my citizenship in such an environemnt and it could be quickly easily done.

Why hasn't he?

His past is murky and all wrapped up in Kenya, Davis, etc., etc. I believe his maternal grandparents did the best they could by their grandson to get him an American start in life...that is what I really believe...and it has gone from there.

The Audacity of Truth about Obama's Upbringing

Of course wouldn't that make him guilty of fraud and misappropriation of federal funds?

I think the ship sailed on effectively disputing Obama's U.S. citizenship back in 2008 when the issue was raised during the campaign and quickly shoved under the rug by the Obama sycophants in the media and what is laughing called the Republican 'leadership'. Little has changed. It's becoming an act of the utmost political sophistication for a Republican politician (and commentators such as Bill O'Reilly) to proclaim that they unequivocally believe Barack Hussein Obama was born in Hawaii. Democrats sneeringly refer to those who raise the citizenship issue as 'birthers' and infer they are just sore losers and/or right-wing loons - and the media winks and smiles with them.

Someday, years from now when it doesn't matter and the U.S. has long since disintegrated, the truth may come out. Historians will be amazed that Obama was able to pull it off. Many will wonder 'what might have been' had he been proven to be a non-citizen and precluded from being sworn in as president but by then, it will be far too late, recriminations will be of little use, cries of "I told you so" will be meaningless and the America we know and love will be no more.

Why?

No matter what happens, if he is not a natural-born citizen he must go.

The Constitution must be followed, no matter what happens.

Very well indeed. I lounged around all day, and didn't do anything constructive. It was a lovely break. J

Agreed, I truly do. Anyone guilty of such a high crime must brought to justice along with his conspirators. But in that case, the great "community organizer" would cause a VIOLENT uprising without his immediate resignation from office. If not, every nut-job with a gun would have a justification for...(I dare not say)...No.

The long term divisions between the parties and such would spark a countrywide brush-fire resulting in riots that would make the 60's look like a walk in the park. This country would be set back. People will die! The economy will implode and many will suffer! Yet, I truly would share the feeling of indignation if this were so. For Pete's sake, I hope he is a natural born citizen.

He was born in Hawaii so that he would have the benefit of U.S. citizenship. Mom later moved to Indonesia.
