Smoked Turkey??? What kind of Yankee scum puts smoked turkey in collards?
At least they didn’t have watermelon..................
See Fuzzy Zoeller for the latest update on Black Soul Food Etiquette
Duh, you should have put this in breaking news, it only been posted a few dozen times.
Clearly these students have never been to Roscoes Chicken and Waffles. THE BEST! Regardless of you race.
Shut up and eat.
so we should BAN ‘traditionally black’ food on MLK day?
If they DIDN’T Serve Fried Chicken, they would of complained about that too...saying they didn’t respect the culture or some crap.
. . . don’t get upset ,,,, in another 20 or 30 years we will be having White History Month , it all evens out in the end .
That’s Racist !!!
Wow, who knew MLK enjoyed Aquafina bottled water?!? Where’s the chitlings and watermelon?
I had some fried chicken last night. It’s so confusing, does that mean I’m PC or un-PC or just enjoy some good ol’ southern fried chicken?
A more contemporary menu for Black History month would have included wagyu beef and lobster, courtesy of the Obama’s.
This is probably an immaturity on my part,
but when I figure out that someone is going to get offended no matter what is said,
or that they are feigning offense in pursuit of another agenda,
I will intentionally offend.
But I’m just a “cracker”, I guess.
I don’t understand the hubbub. That NBC menu looks good.
That’s not just black food; it’s southern food.
Well, I'm offended by black food too - it means they cooked it TOO DANG LONG!
Seriously, can we just get over the "black food" idea?
Can you give it a bloody rest?
The ONLY reason that it's "stereotypical" is because of stupid stories like this.
I eat fried chicken, I eat watermelon, and my mom tried real hard to get me to eat collard greens. I am not black and IT'S NOT BLACK FOOD!
Seems to me like the only reason the food is called "black food" is so somebody can FREAKIN' WHINE ABOUT IT.
I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the choice of food, but by the content of their character.
Fried chicken and waffles....I’m telling you it is difficult to think up a tastier meal.
Anyone know of a Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles in Houston?
Every other racial/ethnic group CELEBRATES with food associated with their backgrounds.
But if you suggest a food is associated with American Blacks you are racist.
Go figure.
Are they embarrassed of eating or something?
As somebody quipped on twitter back then, Im simultaneously offended and hungry.
BEST. TWITTER. EVER.
Yes Virginia...it’s racist to serve MLK’s favore meal on a day in his honor...
Late Democrat James Earl Ray smiles from the depths of hell...
Oh...you didnt know Ray was a democrat?
“Ray arrived in Los Angeles on November 19. While in L.A., Ray attended a local bartending school and took dance lessons. His chief interest, however, would be the George Wallace presidential campaign. Ray harbored a strong prejudice towards African Americans and was quickly drawn to Wallaces segregationist platform. He would spend much of his time in Los Angeles volunteering at the Wallace campaign headquarters in North Hollywood.”

Wallace ran the first three times for president as a
*drum roll please*
DEMOCRAT.
Good thing it wasn’t pancakes!!!
Imagine the outcry if they had served sausages or toast & jelly!
Oh the humanity.
That is also the same day as Brussels Day.
...as a Belgian, I’m deeply offended that they served waffles!
;-)
