Re: Muslim Cosby Show Ideas
Hey guys. Ive been meaning to do this for about a week, but with the assassination in Pakistan and the bombing of the Coptic church in Egypt, things have been busy over here on the news side.
I know Im a little out of my element here, being a serious and super-well respected journalist, but I really was serious the other day when I said on air that we need a Muslim Cosby Show. As you guys know, that warm portrayal of a middle class African-American family in colorful sweaters did so much to cleanse this country of bigotry that and my time on Today with Bryant Gumbel.
You guys are the experts at entertainment I still cant believe they cancelled Dr. Vegas but I had a couple of ideas to run past you.

Now, what actor is going to be the lead? And the supporting cast will be whom?
I wonder how long any politically correct sponsor will buy adds for a show that has established a new low rating?
Political Correctness doesn't sell in the rest of the nation has Hollywood continues to prove each year. I guess it TV’s turn now.
Call it “My Three Muslims” or “I Dream of Muhammed” or “Muhammeds Island” or “Leave It To Achmed”.
To attempt to compare Bill Cosby's humor to some manufactured attempt at inventing Muslim humor is comparing apples and black holes. Phylicia Rashad apparently converting to Islam in season 5 or 6 notwithstanding, the two - Cosby's brilliance and humor and some fake Islamist attempt - are not in the same universe. The show nosedived in the ratings shortly after she married Ahmad...for good reason. Besides, the marriage was pretty short lived.
LOL!
“As you guys know, that warm portrayal of a middle class African-American family...”
Middle class??? Upper middle class at the very least. I believe Mr. Huxtable was a Medical doctor and his wife had a PHD. Remember their house??? Hardly middle class.
Please tell me if I’m wrong.
i don't know if Clair had a PhD, but she was an attorney... and i would say they were upper middle class...
Burn Marks
That 600s Show
Welcome Back Khadim
Third Rock to Her Head
Better Off Achmed
hahaha!
you guys are spot on... the Huxtables were Christian...they went to Christian church on Sundays... sang gospel songs... even if you aren't black, upper middle class nor educated, you can relate to some aspect of the show... there would be no audience for a Muslim Cosby-type show...
A “Cosby Show? that promotes oppression, murder, terror, abuse of females??
A “Cosby Show” that has people killng children with nail bombs.
Couric is an idiot.
islam is an evil scourge on the planet and must be stood against at all costs..
What tequilas are good for actually drinking, as opposed to a shot or a mixed drink?
I am a Scotch snob, but do like other things.
Has Katie remarried yet?
If not, let’s encourage her to marry a Muslim and then move to a middle-east country, preferably Iran or Pakistan.
Then we’ll see how in love she’ll be with the idea of a Muslim family.
Blowing Pains
Are you talking about Bobby Moore’s wive?
If an Allah cartoon in Europe caused a worlwide bloodbath of Muslim “outrage”, just imagine a show trying to show Sharia in a humorous light.
Ah...no.
Bobby Moore = Ahmad Rashad
The muzzies are funny and intelligent, and the infidels provide slapstick humor and stupid jokes.
Agreed, but I can add more. First the creator of the show, according to Wikipedia is Zarqa Nawaz. Born in Liverpool, England she is "a muslim woman of Pakistani origin".
Nawaz portrayal of rural Saskatchewan women is interesting. I saw one episode where the wife (turned muslim) is portrayed as demanding his sexual attentions and coming on to her husband. The man appeared as if his dignity was being assaulted.
Another woman is invited to their house and gets plastered with drink. She cannot go home in her condition. His wife, she of the demanding attentions, implores hubby, to take her to the spare bedroom, His dark visage scowls with displeasure, as he supports the drunken non-muslim woman, into the room.
Good old Zarka, no fatwa on her. (chuckle).
