On a day when many Tea Party-influenced Republican members of Congress took the oath of office in Washington, former Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean is storming back onto the scene, first declaring Tea Party leadership to be fraudulent and now revealing his true thoughts about the whole Tea Party movement at a Christian Science Monitor breakfast. Although he doesn’t think Tea Party members are racist, he does think “it’s the last gasp of the 55-year-old generation . . . a group of older folks who’ve seen their lives change dramatically.”
Dean continued:
Every morning when they see the president they are reminded that things are totally different than they were when they were born and I think that has a lot to do with it. . . Economic uncertainty fuels this but this is the last gasp of the generation that has trouble with diversity. The tea party is almost entirely over 55 and white, and the country has changed dramatically as a result of what happened in 2008 and it’s not going back. Every day that goes on, the demographic change continues, and that’s what a lot of this is about.
Given that Tea Party favorites like Senator Rand Paul, Senator Marco Rubio and Sarah Palin are each under 50 years old, and that many would argue the Tea Party has many constituents well under Dean’s age threshold, Dean’s conclusion seems questionable. However, Dean is never one to shy away from giving his opinion, also revealing his prediction that former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney is the strongest Republican challenger to President Obama in 2012.

We know that Dean is one of the ‘change’ group that cares less about an established, over 200 years, law of governance than he/they do for a system that belittles human dignity to the feet of glory kings such as Dean and Obama.
I’ll put this right next to that 60 Minutes poll that said that, to cut the deficit, 61% of Americans favor taxing the rich and 20% favor cutting defense, while only 7% combined favor cutting Social Security or Medicare. I mean, the Republicans must be geniuses if they can win with 81% of Americans supporting the Democrats’ fiscal platform.
And that's why they called it TV "programming."

Yo, Dean you asshole! The average age of the founding fathers was 43.8 and most were in their 40s and 50s with a couple in their 60s.
There is no “last gasp” about it; we can still take up arms in defense of the Constitution if it comes to that and you’d be well served to keep that in mind.
Dean is never going to be anything but a former governor of...(snicker)... Vermont, and he’s certifiably nuts. Frankly, I find him rather amusing.
And to the upside, at least he doesn’t hide his animosity. You always know where you stand with him, that’s for sure.
Dean’s pegged hard left, totally whacked, full of bluster and beyond the pale... but on balance, he’s not in a position to have much impact anymore. Nowadays, he’s sort of like the nutty neighbor who yells at mosquitos as he feeds his imaginary chickens late at night.

Exactly - the TV “programming” also was geared towards dumb young people who loved Obama in 2008 and probably still do. All of TV is garbage.

Well Howie, it’s not our “last” gasp, because we’re going to repeal Obamacare and live another 30 years.
Howie, your brand of anti-Constitutional socialism has been rejected. That way American’s don’t have to suffer through it’s certain failure, if it were to be implemented.
Just for giggles, go to youtube and input “Howard Dean Reversed”. There are two vids that begin with his scream only its “HGRRAAEEEEEEEYOO!” followed by a stream of inchoate syllables some compare to a Hitler rant. There’s some software than makes it possible.
Dean makes no less sense backwards than anything else he’s screamed.
You assume that the military is a bought and paid for, non-thinking force that swears allegiance to the president. We swear/swore allegance to the Constitution; to protect and defend that Constitution, even against those within our own government.
They are in the same generation Howard Dean is in, except that Dean is a leftist idiot.

I don’t “assume” anything, since I’m not the author of that article.
Many if not most are ex-hippies who are more firmly rooted in reality now.
