On a day when many Tea Party-influenced Republican members of Congress took the oath of office in Washington, former Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean is storming back onto the scene, first declaring Tea Party leadership to be fraudulent and now revealing his true thoughts about the whole Tea Party movement at a Christian Science Monitor breakfast. Although he doesnt think Tea Party members are racist, he does think its the last gasp of the 55-year-old generation . . . a group of older folks whove seen their lives change dramatically.
Dean continued:
Every morning when they see the president they are reminded that things are totally different than they were when they were born and I think that has a lot to do with it. . . Economic uncertainty fuels this but this is the last gasp of the generation that has trouble with diversity. The tea party is almost entirely over 55 and white, and the country has changed dramatically as a result of what happened in 2008 and its not going back. Every day that goes on, the demographic change continues, and thats what a lot of this is about.
Given that Tea Party favorites like Senator Rand Paul, Senator Marco Rubio and Sarah Palin are each under 50 years old, and that many would argue the Tea Party has many constituents well under Deans age threshold, Deans conclusion seems questionable. However, Dean is never one to shy away from giving his opinion, also revealing his prediction that former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney is the strongest Republican challenger to President Obama in 2012.

A few older people I know voted for Hussein. They watch TV constantaly and are stupid. Typical TV viewers brainwashed by all TV and Fox is only marginally better. Stupid sheep. They traded liberty for a TV clicker.
Dean is a socialist moron.
In which the self-important elites, in this case an arrogant, Leftist POS, continue to demonstrate how little they understand about not only the Tea Party, but conservatives, and larger still, regular American citizens.
I’m 34 & have been Tea Partyin’ since the ripe old age of 32 so Deaner the Weiner can kiss my a$$
Did he scream yeeaahhh(!!!) at the end of the speech?
He wishes thats all it was! LOL
“He who trades liberty for security shall have neither” John Adams
Howard Dean says this kind of thing regularly. Which makes it obvious that he doth protest too much. He's the one flipping out over demographic change.
"Socializing" America is the last gasp of communism hiding
behind the disguise of "progressive" and "liberal."
.
“I am sorry mister dean... your race card has been canceled... I am required to cut it in half... have a nice day”.
LLS
That is leftist logic; i.e. something is both A and non A at the same time and in the same manner.
Dean and his ilk in the so-called "progressive" movement subscribe to the counterfeit ideas of Mao, Marx, Lenin and Keynes, overlooking the enduring ideas of liberty so well understood by America's founding geniuses and encapsulated in our Declaration of Independence and Constitution. It was those ideas which allowed individual liberty, opportunity, and prosperity to attract millions of the oppressed from all the world.
On the other hand, the philosophy embraced by the "progressives" have produced tyranny by a political elite, lack of opportunity for individuals, and want in every society where that philosophy has prevailed.
America's so-called "Tea Partiers" have taken advantage of new technologies in order to read and study the documents of their liberty and the writings and speeches of the nation's Founders. They are not motivated by fear, as Dean and his cohorts would have us believe. Rather, Tea Partiers are motivated by a passion for liberty not felt on so large a scale since 1776.
So much for his condescension! It merely provides a window to his limited understanding of his nation's source of greatness.
We know that Dean is one of the ‘change’ group that cares less about an established, over 200 years, law of governance than he/they do for a system that belittles human dignity to the feet of glory kings such as Dean and Obama.
