It's true: Black people are protective of President Barack Obama because he is the first African American to serve as the commander in chief of the United States. It's not that hard to figure out why that would be the case.
Still, I didn't truly understand the depths of this loyalty until I recently moved to Chicago and the same South Side streets that the president used to walk. Now that I have, I tell you, I get it.
Although I was always very aware and critical of people attacking an influential black man's actual manhood and character over policy differences, I admit: The more I fall in love with the people who make up one of the richest parts of black America (in terms of culture, cultural awareness and civic pride), the more I find myself cognizant of the line between appropriate criticism and inappropriate potshots at the guy who used to be a community organizer around these parts.
I can separate the two men named Barack H. Obama -- the one who once filled in as a guest radio host on WVON, the black talk radio station from where I write this piece today, and the one who is now leader of this nation. Most people here in Chicago -- and perhaps many black folks around the nation -- cannot.
And for the president's foes, perhaps, it behooves them to grasp this recognition in time for the political game in 2011.
If nothing else has come out of the Tea Party movement of the last two years, it is that the nation -- even moderates -- will be open to accepting new political solutions (even from the right), but it may continue to reject those solutions in dealings with the president, based on the tone of the criticism he receives. With the Tea Party appeased by (and pleased with) the results of the midterm elections, the president and Republicans were able to come to the table together without the nasty tone of criticism hurled at the president from the right. It is not surprising that, in return, the president was able to sign into law several pieces of legislation that would not have been overwhelmingly supported otherwise in either the House or the Senate.
“Black people are protective of President Barack Obama because he is the first African American to serve as the commander in chief of the United States.”
In other words, they’re racists.
In other words, theyre racists.

It is an absolute. If all black people left America tomorrow, racism, especially as a profession and a political weapon, would cease to exist in America.
TEA Party aka: “Taxed Enough Already”. What part of this don’t you get? Obama has spent more money (signing bills from the 111th Congress) than ALL others COMBINED. How do we pay for this?

That speaks volumes.
Obama could mass murder 100 white people - vow allegiance to all the muzzie overlords on earth - and personally welcome Kim Jong Il as the new president of America, and yet blacks will still slobber all over him with love and adoration
Pleased? Yes. Appeased? Not even close. far more traitors to be removed yet. the president and Republicans were able to come to the table together without the nasty tone of criticism hurled at the president from the right. Wrong. What happened is the American people were sold out by RINOs and dead duck democrats who don't have to hide the fact that they are communists anymore. All of these lame duck actions have to be repealed ASAP.
"inappropriate potshots"?
Simple. If you are critical of Obozo, it is an "inappropriate potshot" and you are a racist.
What is he trying to say? That Blacks like Obama. But we knew that.
If all black people left America tomorrow, racism, especially as a profession and a political weapon, would cease to exist in America.

Interesting comment. And what would happen to racism in America if all WHITE PEOPLE left tomorrow?
hmmm?
(I think we all know the answer to THAT!!)
lolol
If all white people left America tomorrow, the blacks would still be complaining about the Koreans, and black gangs would still be struggling with Mexican gangs. In other words, there would be less race hatred, but there would still be a lot.
If Whites complain about Obama, that fact can’t prove those Whites are racists because Obama is half-white. If those complaints prove that those Whites are racists, that means that all Blacks, who complained about Bush or Reagan, are racists.
He says he get it but does not say what he gets.
He goes off into a riff about the 2 personas of Barack but does not clarify what they are.
He claims that compromise was made possible by virtue of the Tea Party being satisfied. In fact the Tea Party is mightily pi**ed off with the RINO leadership and is ready for a do over.
Finally, Obama approved an agreement in absolute opposition to his consistent position. He even claimed that he was agreeing to protect the people from right wing terrorism.
The good Dr from Harvard left his marbles in Cambridge Square and does not have anything left with which to play.
American black society has committed suicide. Obama is the perfect leader for them.
And what would happen to racism in America if all WHITE PEOPLE left tomorrow?

Racism would probably realize a slower demise, since the base of people upon which the extortion of racism is conducted (in the majority) would no longer be available as targets. Don’t forget history. Those that profit from racism have fostered the notion that only white people can be guilty of racism. Where is the headquarters of the NAAWP??
...if the whites left, there would be a war....and a new dictator....
African tradition requires it, but, it seems to me the Hispanics would win...
Now ask yourself (rhetorical question for us all), who else could Satan have chosen as a standard bearer whose core base would be so devoted as to forgive and deny ANY evil?
I can't think of a single person.
BTW, I know many, many wonderful born-again Christians from the African American community...and most (but not all) have decided Obama is now their messiah.
Many white Democratic voters vowed to vote Republican, not willing to vote for a black candidate
Harold Washington: Chicagos First African American Mayor
Does Obama ever mentioned the first black mayor of Chicago[ 1983-87] - Harold Washington?
Mayor Harold Washington eloquently [without a teleprompter] speaks about Mayor Richard Daley and his legacy[scroll down to YouTube]
Mayor Washington greets Ronald Reagan
"..[Washington] he did not divide and use racism as a crutch. Harold united people and treated everyone well" -Father Tomasino
If so many problems in this country are due to Republicans and racism and tea party activists and so on, why haven’t these problems been solved? For the past two years, we have had a black president, black attorney general, and big majorities of good Democrats in Congress to solve all the problems left over from the Bush years.
After two years of Obama, the streets he walked on the South Side are still the war zone they were when he took office. The baby mama culture is alive and well. The youth gangs are as active as ever, settling all slights, real and imagined, with an illegal gun they got somewhere.
After two years of Obama, has anything really changed in black America? Have any young black men been inspired by the fact that a black man can achieve the highest achievement possible in America, being elected president? Have any young black men shunned the gangs due to being inspired by the fact of a black president?????
One hundred will be small potatoes once he gets hid Death Panels fully functional.
(obviously there won't be any racism from his panels - /sarc)
