11 Domestic Policy Predictions for 2011

2010 was a tough year for most Americans. Sure, the Dow ended up the year on a high note, but unemployment rates hovering at 10% meant that most Americans either were out of work, had family out of work or feared that they would soon join the unemployment lines. What will 2011 look like? Below are some predictions.

1) In order to balance budgets (or at least get closer) almost all cities, counties and states will increase usage fees for everything from car registrations to recycling fees. At the same time, the quality of such services will dramatically decrease.

2) A large city or state will begin moving into bankruptcy in order to force federal bailouts. Since it will be a Democrat stronghold such as Illinois or California (or both in concert), a Republican Congress will refuse without the abrogation of generous government worker contracts. This will lead to a showdown.

3) Marijuana will continue to be mainstreamed by pothead advocates under the rubric of "medical marijuana." Outside of besotted Los Angeles it will become clear that 95% of people getting medical marijuana suffer from "anxiety."

4) Studies will again prove that liberals are unhappier and less charitable than conservatives, but newspapers will refuse to highlight this, focusing instead on a gaffe by Sarah Palin, when she uses the word reapportion instead of redistrict. This leads to dozens of editorials and news stories by The New York Times.

5) President Obama will clarify that the 57 states of America that he referenced on the campaign trail included Washington DC, Puerto Rico, Palestine, Kenya, Indonesia, Katrina-New Orleans and Global-Warmingstan-Atlantis.

6) Republicans will let down those of us who are serious about overspending.

7) Democrats will wait until the economy is slightly healthy and then propose to spend us into oblivion ...

I predict that Republican RINOS will team up with Democrats to cause more Havoc and Chaos. Also Lisa MurCowski will become a media darling and new hero. Charlie Crist may get a job at MSNBC and be represented as a far right conservative.

This ties in nicely with the new food safety law just passed. This year, I plan on planting pot all around the border of my 1/4 acre garden and hiding my ‘illegal’tomatoes, peppers, beans, potatoes, etc. inside the perimeter, LOL!

Man, what a messed up country we’re living in these days! The gays, the pot-heads, the losers, the takers, the lazy & indigent, the mental cases, the criminals, the politicians (which can pretty much fit into any group I’ve already listed)...run the show now and the rest of us PAY for it!

Grrrrrrr!

I especially like the part in #2 about cancelling all those B.S. union contracts out! Warms the cockles of my heart.
