From Sarah Palin's Alaska, hunting with her dad they come up on a large caribou, it takes a few shots but Sarah brings it down...

I wonder when Mittens is going to do his famous varmint reenactment?( insert Bonanza theme song here )
Sarah is big enough to allow her dad and that woman (Sue?) to almost steal the episode from her. I was moved to see her waving goodbye to the departing plane. These Alaska women are something else!

Then there are the people out in the cabins~alone~isolated, not even a wolf around to make noise and suddenly, a crunch ~ a distant crunch, and a footfall is heard on the crusted surface of the snow.
The heart races, the pulse pounds, the brain feels like it's being compressed................. and suddenly the flickering whale oil lamp goes out and you are cast into the deepest darkness.
Slowly, and in hopes of not attracting any attention, you reach over and turn on your cell phone imagining that there's a cell tower out there looming in the distance ~ and SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
she was shooting high.....5 shots .....their guide said "somethings wrong" ....then gave sarah his rifle wherein she dropped the animal with one shot.... most likely a sighting problem.
how do you know that the sights were not knocked out of alignment on the trip over?
just proves how authentic she is. no editing required when you're the real deal.
you need to cut him some slack....he's getting up in age.
But it is a bad habit and bad things can happen from it...
The most impressive thing about this episode to me was what it shows about Sarah’s ego. She allowed the cameras and the show to go with the five missed shots. Can you imagine any other person allowing the whole world to see them missing five shots at a Caribou? I’m sure she had veto power over segments of the film. Why not just use the successful shot in the film? She wants people to see her as she really is, not some “made up” character.
I watched the youtube vid. I was sitting at the edge of my seat for those 3 minutes. All the while thinking, this is what people used to do. It was so natural back then. No hunting, no food. No refrigerators, no supermarkets, no prepackaged meats. No peta or crazy laws. The focus was to get food on the table through the winter. Survival. A lost art for most.
When Gov Sarah quoted Ted Nugent, I got teary eyed. Don't know why. Maybe because a real person is quoting another real one.
When Gov Sarah missed the few times, I was amazed how she stayed calm, cool, no cussing. she remained focused at the job she started off to do. She meant to finish it. Her relationship with her father is heartwarming.
I love how this thread has progressed into talking about rifles. I know nothing about that stuff and find it extremely interesting. All we need here is a pot bellied stove. LOL
I've never caught my own food but I bet that the food one hunts for tastes the best. Animal and human spirits intermingle. Death and life, the way God intended it to be.
WOW!
It wasn't her rifle. It was her dad's rifle, and he had it to her to take the shot. He may have zero'd the scope before he left, but earlier that day he had it on his shoulder when he took a bad fall. That might have knocked the scope out of alignment. But in any case... the scope was obviously way off.
Then she took Becker's rifle and dropped the animal with one shot to the chest. It dropped instantly.
I can just imagine Sarah Palin as the leader of an underground resistance across the nation. That is should there become such a movement either through anarchy from an illegal dictatorship, a foreign enemy invading en masse or the far out possibility of an alien invasion or robotic upheaval.
Seriously though she does kinda have that “I can do it” moxie that most men don’t have.
If that was Obama firing the rifle he would have had the scope mounted on the side.
Tough lady for sure. And she wasn’t really that awful hard to look at either. Of course, when it’s -75 I imagine she’d be quite a looker!
Why don't you get your flaming liberal ass back to The Daily Kos?
