To all my family and friends,
I wanted to write a little about what I am thankful for on this day of Thanksgiving.
On this Thanksgiving day, and indeed, on each day, I am thankful to and for God in Heaven and His tender mercies towards me and my family, and for His Son,, Jesus Christ, my dear Savior, and for His atonement and gospel which extends His tender mercy to all mankind if they will but come unto Him of their own free will.
I am thankful for my dear wife, and best friend, Gail and her Christ-like love for me and her ministrations to me through our 32 years of marriage and particularly through my current health crisis with cancer. She is my eternal sweetheart, for whom I have the deepest respect for and gratitude to for all she has taught me about life and love. I love her with all my heart and know that love comes from God in Heaven and is a reflection of His love and that of His Son.
I am thankful for each of our five children, Katie, Rachel, Becki, Jeff, and Jared and all they have taught me through our life as a family and continue to teach me in my middle years now. They have been an inspiration to me, through all the experiences, good and difficult, and I look back and am thankful for them all. I love them each so much...it is almost impossible to adequately express in words. I know our love can and will be eternal, and am grateful for that knowledge.
I am so thankful for my six grandchildren, Braedon, Kyra, Riley, Gracie, Kenna, Kason and for the two who will soon be born into this world making eight altogether. What a joy they are in life to me, and what an inspiration and goal they gave me to live for and, according to God's will, survive so I could spend more time with them.
I am thankful for my parents and the way the raised me to know of and turn to Christ...their love for me. Dad, there is not a day that goes by that I do not miss you. mom, we love you and will care for you with love, compassion, and tenderness until you are called home to be with your Savior and your eternal companion and husband. I am thankful for each of my brothers, Lee, greg, and Paul and all they have taught me. What a great family we have had, despite whatever difficulties. Lee and Paul and I also miss Greg, who was taken home, suffering from cancer himself over six years ago now. I miss his always friendly greeting when he saw me, "Well, hello, Jeffrey!" And I must add here, I am so thankful for my dear in laws, Ralph and Effie, who raised my dear wife Gail to be what she is today, the most precious blessing in my life next to my own relationship with God and His Son.
I am so eternally grateful to have been blessed with good friends, friends in times of need as the Lord promised me in a blessing early in my life. And He has kept that promise. Great Christian and patriotic souls, whose love for God and His Son, others, and life burn so strongly within them and who have exercised their love and faith on my behalf...and extended their help as the Lord saw fit when it was most needed. I could never express enough my thanks other than to pass it on in kind as I see others in need.
I am thankful for life, given by God and maintained by Him, for His purposes and that I can be in the company of my family and friends and perhaps have some influence on them for the good and particularly motivate them to come unto Christ and find rest in Him irrespective of the circumstances they face in life. His healing is powerful enough to provide peace, comfort and rest in any circumstance that we are called to pass through, even if the hardship itself is not removed.
I am thankful for the United states, this land of liberty, and my own liberty where I can worship God and keep company with my family as I see fit...and for the God-inspired constitutional Republic which maintains that liberty. I am thankful for all who have served this nation and its cause for liberty, with the moral constraint and foundation that goes with it that must be freely chosen by the people iof we are to keep it.
All those, including many of my own kin, including my father and uncles, who served and fought to defend it. I am thankful; that the people of this nation are awakening to the meaning of those fundamental moral principles, and from whence they derive...from that same God in Heaven who gives us all life...and that the people are now standing against the internal, liberal, socialistic forces that would fundamentally change the very basis of our nation and destroy its liberty. May we continue to do so.
God, family, life, liberty...and the principles and way of life that define and embrace them. May we all reverence them, always be thankful to God in Heaven for them, and stand in their defense in whatever circumstance we find ourselves in.
Happy Thanksgiving, one and all, and God's best blessings to you all!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.

Hi Jeff, I was thinking about you today and the fact that I had not seen you around for a while. The reason you came to mind is because my husband is suffering some severe lower back/hip pain and will be getting an MRI. The doctor feels sure it is a pinched nerve, I hope she is right. I hope you are doing well, your pictures look great and so do you. We live in Houston and if it should turn out to be what you had I’ll be calling for some doctors names. Happy Thanksgiving and a Merry Christmas.
Happy Thanksgiving, Jeff! And thanks for the pictures of your wonderful family. In all the turmoil in our country today, it’s great to hear from you. You are well-grounded and you post brings us back to ‘what it’s all about’.
I've moved to California since we last corresponded. That might be surprising. It's a great place. We just got to get the Marxists under control. Then, it will be fantastic.
Great to hear from you this Thanksgiving Jeff!
God Bless, and our very best to you and your family for the Holidays.
Happy Thanksgiving, Jeff and family. We have much to be thankful for.
God bless,
Jim
I am thankful that you are still posting!
All the best, Jeff.
Amen Jeff. Best Wishes and Blessings to you and yours on this day.
Back atcha!
And blessings to you too Jeff. Thx for including me in your post. So glad you are still walking amongst us spreading God’s sweet word.
Thank you so much, Dubya, and God bless you and yours! May His Hand, that is mighty to save, hold and shelter you!
I will say this...if it is cancer...you are in one of the best places on earth to be treated. The Medical Center, and MD Anderson in particular...is the best place you can imiagine, at least it was for us. And you are blessed to already be there.
It does not mean burdens are lifted or necessarily taken away...it does mean that through His Son, they are made light, and we learn from them and through them, witness to others.
I so witness now. All things work together for the good of them that love the Lord...and all can and should come unto Christ where they can find food for the soul, and where they can find peace and faith, and hope, and the eternal love of our Savior and His atonement.
He is mighty to save, for individuals and for nations who turn to Him.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours Jeff! What a beautiful family you have and it is obvious that they give you great joy.
Thanks Virginia Ridgerunner for the ping and a very Happy Thanksgiving to you as well!
God Bless you all and God Bless the USA!
Even more than we can count or enumerate.
Our brothers and sisters are awakening to the threats we face and the principles upon which our liberty rests and have rung in more freedom in 2010 and will yet ring in more in 2012...and route the socialists and marxists and those who would seek power and vice from public service at the expense of us all.
How grateful I am to see that occur after the horrible debacle of 2008!
I hope you and yours are content and find happiness and liberty and God's blessings throughout the Holidays and always. we owe you so much for your sevice, particularly for what you have created and the impact it has had for the good with freeRepublic.
God bless you and yours, Jim!
The same back at ya, RedMDer. God’s best to you and yours!
((((Jeff)))))
So glad you are doing so much better. What a lovely post. May God bless you and your family.
Happy Thanksgiving and blessing on all the FRiends’ families.
Thank you my FRiend, the Lord has been good to us through the trials. My life will never be the same...some of the handicaps are difficult and are permanent...but my life is still good, and i will witness for my Savior through it all because it is His Hand that is upon me. In times of good, propserity and in difficult times...blessed be the name of the Lord! In the words of my forfathers...Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!
