The United Nations effort to add representatives from Iran and Saudi Arabia to its super agency on womens rights was only partially successful. Lobbying by the U.S. convinced enough of the delegates to vote against allowing Irans representative to sit on the panel.
Whether either of these nations representatives merited inclusion on this panel seems doubtful. Both have a record of repression toward women. In this regard, Saudi Arabia is arguably more severe in its treatment of women than Iran.
A spokesman for the UN defended the intended addition of Iranian and Saudi representatives, explaining that We mustnt let ourselves be restricted to the Western view that women should be treated like men. Cultures that seek to protect women from sin and defilement deserve a voice. Who is to say that keeping women subjugated isnt in their best interest in the long run?

What do you expect? Is the Muslim monopilzed UN.

Well, that makes it OK, then.
Is it just me or is it a little scary that this article seems more plausible than one about Iran making it onto the Commission for Women’s Rights a week after their top clerics declare that women who wear revealing clothing cause earthquakes?
When the satire comes across as more realistic than reality...
John, I was reading the headline of your article out loud to Mrs. RQSR as I was aghast, and frustrated at the UN once again by what I was reading. We both anticipated the article, but then I saw your name, and I told her “AWWWW, LOL, nevermind, it’s John Semmens”. We then prepared for a good satire.
Regardless we are supporters of any, movement towards getting the US the “H” outta that organization, and think it the absolute first step necessary to ending the idiocy of Globalization.
John,
This is the kind of crappola that should show exacly why the U.N. is total garbage.

Maybe they are on the panel as an example of what NOT TO DO!
