Life has been so busy lately with family, church, working on my website, that I have barely taken time to notice how terrible the Dallas Cowboys are doing this year. I have yet to watch one game because I know they are losing and I hate to watch them lose. I don't have time to invest in a losing team. That could be why I have not been interested in the Texas Rangers.
While growing up in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, I remember the Dallas Cowboys winning more games than they lost. I remember the excitement. I remember the Cowboys going to the Superbowl in the 70's and 80's. I remember the fun of watching with family and friends, as well as the thrill of having a world-class winning team everyone could be proud of.
It was never that way with the Texas Rangers. Long, boring games that often ended with the dred of an even longer season that would never culminate in anything worth mentioning. We Texas Rangers fans had little to brag about. Sure we eventually had Nolan Ryan pitch in his senior years, and a few other notable mentions, but the World Series was always a competition for other teams, other cities ... not us.

Don’t count chickens before they hatch, but Rangers are up three games to one on the Yankees. This could be their year.
A blogger? Dying soon?
Oh Discordia!
It’s been said that baseball is 3 minutes of action packed into 3 hours. But when it comes to the playoffs, every pitch, every move has meaning. It is unbelievable how exciting playoff baseball is compared to the regular season, (although I do love baseball, even in the regular season).
I’m glad I got to experience my home team in the playoffs. Sadly, I won’t live long enough to see them go back. The Indians are terrible, and their ownership is even worse. And, due to that inept management, coupled with the crappy baseball salary structure, Cliff Lee ended up in Texas. You’re welcome Texas.
Congrats, and good luck. I’m pulling for the Rangers.
Sorry, this is a waste of space.
I’m going to die sometime in the next 50 years or so.
I will live long enough to see the Chicago Cubs win the World Series.
I like the Rangers, but I’m also a big fan of Lance Berkman, and wouldn’t mind seeing him get a ring. My loyalties are divided in this series.

Family members are in Arlington today to bury a friend who was killed in Afghanistan.
I will be attending the funeral today of a 15 year old family member killed in car accident.
So forgive me if I don’t see the point of this title.
Very good! LOL
It's not going to happen. It can't happen, because if it does that means I'm going to die soon.
Well much to my delight, or perhaps my demise, I noticed tonight that the Rangers are now up 3-1 in the series. One more win and nothing short of the apocalypse will keep them from going to the World Series. And if they can beat the Yankees 10 to 3, and even shut them out 8 - 0, in Yankee Stadium, then they could come home with the crown.
So as part of my last will and testament, I, Réne Evan Girard, being of blown-away mind and body, do hereby bequeath all of my earthly goods to those who will surely pilage and plunder in victory celebration because they believe they can get away with it ... because it's the end of the world ... or at least my world ... because I swore there was no way the Texas Rangers would ever make it to the World Series, much less win it, in my lifetime.
Yep. I'm a dead man."
so sorry for your loss
the point is along the lines of “when hell freezes over” “when pigs fly”, etc.
don’t worry about it, just be there to mourn with those who mourn
I am a serious as they come Yankee Fan.
Win or lose, I’ll never equate their status in the league/division/world series with living or not.
Baseball is amusement for me. Serious amusement (oxymoronic mahaps?) but amusement in the end.
I don’t understand why we have to title things with such drama.
Anyone who emotionally invests in a ball team is an idiot.
We are losing or lost our country because of idiot drones watching ball games in between the “stupid white man” commercials. The sheep have no clue they empower their overlords watching TV.
A truly tough day for you airborne. You and yours are in our prayers.
Prayers up for ya, pal.
Misleading titles to lure people to read tripe?
And not even tripe about politics or war or the great ethical questions of our time, but tripe about a sports team?
Ding! Ding! Ding!
Ten out of ten on the “lame” scale!!!
