Note that even though the 2006/2008 Dem Congress (thanks to MCCain Feingold - thanks AZ) was a lag on the economy and the Dems and Cong Black Cau was pushing free houses on everyone - the tipping point was around June 2008.
The real tipping point to me was when Hillary was out around June 2008. I loathe the woman but business owners were saying - okay - we still have a shot that the islamo-marxist will not get in. As soon as Hillary was gone - the smart money knew we were toast. McCain was a fall guy/Soros stooge set up to lose.
I am not saying Hillary and Bill were any good but Ann Coulter, who is now an anti-birther - said Hillary was better than the islamo-muslim and the old traitor to his party. Businesses knew.
My guess as soon as Hillary was out - capital fled the USA and business started cutting back.

Interesting to note how things really changed just after the democrat party took over congress. What is more striking is the speed at which the counties turned purple/black after der Fuehrer and his new Nazi Socialist Democrats took over.

I’m going to come out and say the GOP purposely put McCain in there to lose.
This is all a clever scheme to regain control over Congress at the expense of the American people. They knew full well the 2008-2012 presidency was going to be the “we blame this administration for all our problems” term and they wanted to be the FDR version of “recovery”. And they knew Soetoro’s shady past could be used as a leveraging chip to impeach, even indict, the usurper in the event he got out of hand.
That’s a sinister, evil, UnConstitutional, and downright un-Christian approach to the problem. Before voting for GOP members, think about this. Are they here to serve us or to keep the status quo: corruption, control, concealment? If you have a choice between a corrupt Republicrat and a fresh but ethical independent, why not vote for the independent? They are gaining ground. No vote is a wasted vote. That’s all a tactic to think your vote doesn’t matter. It does. Just ask Abraham Lincoln what he thinks about “wasted votes” on a third party.
It’s funny that MA is brought up a couple of times in this thread since I am from MA.
I also am part of that black section that has been laid off! Yep, unemployed at this moment! Gotta love our politicians!
