What does Illinois Tea Party candidate Michael Labno have to do to get some attention around here? Does he have to be more like Christine ODonnell: should he make some bizarre comment about meatballs, get caught buying vibrators and boil some frogs?
Or does he have to be more like Illinois Republican candidate Mark Kirk: shall he create an imaginary life story where he single-handedly killed Osama bin Laden with his .50 caliber sniper rifle, was awarded a medal of honor and then devoted his life to reading fairytales to nursery school students?
On October 5, 2010, Rasmussen Reports announced that a statewide telephone survey of Likely Voters shows Kirk picking up 45% of the vote, while Giannoulias earns 41% support. Four percent (4%) back Green Party candidate LeAlan Jones. Another five percent (5%) prefer some other candidate in the race, and six percent (6%) are undecided.
Rasmussen cannot justify its failure to name the some other candidate who has 1% more support than Jones. Disappointing. Rasmussen had a duty to name Labno in the interest of fairness to all parties, to ensure more accurate reporting by the media, and because voters rely heavily on polling numbers to help them make a decision.
Labno shouldnt be ignored for his lack of wack.
Warning to Republicans (or those who are considering voting Republican): If you vote for Mark Kirk, you will be voting for a liberal. So, if you are going to vote for a liberal, then make it easier on yourself and simply vote for Alexi Giannoulias, since hes the real Democrat.
Wait, before you get all worked-up and accuse me, an Illinois Democrat, of trying to persuade the right to lean left, please continue reading because my point has zilch to do with Giannoulias I simply want to make sure that the person you vote for accurately and properly represents you.
Michael Labno may be your guy, instead of Mark Kirk. Why?
Kirk is a Republican. Or is he? Kirk voted to allow the government to confiscate your legally owned firearm in the event of a national emergency. He is pro-choice, saved millions in funding for Planned Parenthood and was just one of 17 Republicans to vote to fund abortions for female inmates. Kirk is for cap and trade and voted for TARP not once, but twice.
Labno is a self-proclaimed recovering Republican; three years sober, officially. He wonders why we still havent found Osama bin Laden and is disappointed with the Republicans support of the bailouts. He wants small businesses and community banks to thrive again. He is pro-life and pro-guns. Labno owns his positions and he hasnt manufactured his qualifications or made up outlandish stories to gain support.
Fred Newbrough, one of Labnos Facebook friends, wrote, We are tired of the same old games by the GOP Kirk is the most horrible candidate imaginable for the Senate. He isnt even reliably fiscally conservative. The good thing is that you, Mike, are in the race. Illinois has a real choice: a Tea Party choice, a conservative choice, a libertarian choice.
Illinois voters, before you allow a senator to drive you to Washington, make sure some other candidate isnt hidden in a blind-spot; otherwise, he may crash before you even get to your final destination.
I prefer liberals and anti-Semites like Percy be in the “other” party. I guess you don’t. As for Alexi’s conviction, we shall see. Do you not expect him to go to jail ?
BTW, I noted how you ignored how the Combine works in sabotaging honest candidates, quite telling. Do you work for them ?
I'm not going to pin my hopes for a GOP Senate on his conviction.
So no prediction for that happy day? Come on, when can Brady expect that news?
quite telling. Do you work for them ?
Obviously every conservative who thinks you're a clown must work for the Combine. LOL!
“Every single Democrat is worse than his Republican opponent.”
That is one steaming pile.
I don't think anyone has argued that there are absolutely "no differences" and that Kirk and Alexi are 100% identical on the issues. They're not. However, the fact is they're both liberals and they agree on about 90% of the important stuff. Al Gore and Ralph Nader aren't 100% identical on the issues either, but both were left-wing socialists that no rational conservative should have considered supporting. Ditto with Kirk and Alexi.
>> FReepers can have their own opinions, but they cant have their own facts. <<
Kirk supporters have been the only ones making up their own facts around here. For months, they've tried to presuade conservaitves to back Kirk for various reasons (claiming he'll oppose activist judges, he'll vote against amnesty, he'll support Gitmo, he's against all earmarks, he'll repeal Obamacare, he's a fiscal conservative, he's a war hero who served in Iraq and took enemy fire, etc.) and nearly all of it has proven to be fake information about the candidate who's only source is Kirk campaign memo talking points. Even after the Kirk campaign has been caught in a lie and is forced to retract their "facts", his supporters continue to shamelessly spread misinformation about his career history, positions, and voting record.
Voters should have accurate information about a candidate when they pick that person, and not elect a person under false pretenses. If they still want to vote for Kirk after learning he's to the left of many card-carrying Democrats, go for it. However, we have a right to inform them of the truth and refute your lies so they know the facts before they vote.
"Vote for Kirk because he an 'R' next to his name" is the only real reason he's being promoted here, and that's not enough to get most conservatives to drink the socialist kool-aid. After electing Jeffords (R) and Specter (R), most of us have learned from history that a candidate with an "R" next to his name does not = "stopping Democrats".
Thanks Billy Boy. We have lots of work to do but things are building. :-)
Of course, even paleoPaulie, unlike Nancyboy, knows what goes where and has his somewhat more sensible son Rand to prove it.
What part of 50+ million sliced, diced and hamburgerized babies don't YOU get???If the slaughter will continue for a while, let's see to it that it is a Demonratic slaughter and that we do not tolerate the perps in our ranks as Republicans.
Living in Illinois as I do and you do not, I know what the Republican Party in this state is suffering from. Only in Illinois could the exotic Kenyan be elected to the Senate with the active connivance of the nominally GOP "leadership." Do you know who Bob Kjellander is? Do you know who Todd Stroger is? BTW, I did not accuse Toddsterpatriot of BEING Todd Stroger but questioned why anyone from Illinois would choose such a screen name. Has he/she/it answered that? If not, why not?
You have inadvertently given one reason to distrust the gay reputation of Nancyboy. I checked your link and it seems to suggest that AN originator (not necessarily the only one) is one Andy Martin. In Connecticut where he and I come from, he was known as Andrew Martin-Trigona. Under that name he was a regular nuisance in the US District Court to the point that a respectable federal trial judge who now serves on the Second Circuit, Jose Cabranes, actually issued an injunction against Martin-Trigona and ordered him to get prior permission from Judge Cabranes before filing any more lawsuits. OTOH your link informs us that a "gay" blogger who accurately outed Larry Wide Stance Craig and Mark Pederast Foley is the source of the rumor. Timothy McVeigh served in Iraq. That doesn't mean I would have settled for him as my US Senator. Likewise, for other reasons, Nancyboy the Baby-killer enabler and gun grabber.
The definition of conservative is not "antiDemocrat" or even "knee jerk Republican."
I was Reagan's state chairman in Connecticut when he challenged spineless Ford. When he won by landslides in 1980 and 1984 and when we surgically removed Lowell Weicker from his Senate seat in 1988, that was not frustration but napalm in the morning, the sweet smell of victory, as Robert Duvall put it. Later, I moved to Illinois.
OTOH, one who calls himself conservative while supporting Nancyboy and the Combine, now THAT IS a sick joke. Apparently you are not a resident of Illinois and you may be forgiven your ignorance of the truly unique corruption of Nancyboy's pals in this state. If you are conservative, then you should know enough about Nancyboy to know that no conservative should support him even if you do not know Illinois. There is verrrry little that Nancyboy would do to resist the destruction of this country by anyone. Stop lying to yourself.
Did you notice that he imagines you a footstool for the man you have relentlessly identified as Slick Willard and that he hallucinates that I support paleoPaulie??? Well, I NEVER! Of course, if he lived in Galveston vicinity, then voting for the paleosurrenderman and moonbat would be a cinch for A. Hun since El Run Paulie IS the GOP candidate. If paleoPaulie were nominated for POTUS, then he could count on A. Hun's vote.
I prefer America-first conservatarians.
I could care less what labels they run under.
I refuse to play the petty, short-sighted shell game of Republican vs. Democrat since flying the Republican flag does not correspond to consistent adherence to conservatarian principles.
This should be fairly obvious by now.
This is amusing. CapitolFax has a “caption that photo” image of the lone time our closet RAT Senate nominee Mark Kirk and our tea party conservative Governor nominee Bill Brady were forced to stand on stage together. They look so comfortable together as “fellow Republicans”, don’t they? Hee hee. The captions make it even better
http://thecapitolfaxblog.com/2010/07/13/question-of-the-day-989/
Were they cuffed? Is that why the photo cut off their hands?
LOL.
You are amusing. The folks over at TBS should give you a show instead of that "Conan" fella.
Well, don't you fret none. When Kirk becomes the margin of victory in the Senate, we all know which party and which ideology will be getting the shaft.
"Obviously every conservative who thinks you're a clown must work for the Combine. LOL!"
Given your fondness for Percy, Kirk and liberal RINOs in general, no one would ever dare accuse you of being a Conservative. :-)
Fondness? No. I do live in the real world. Illinois, unfortunately.
Too bad you work like the dickens to make sure Illinois maintains its “unfortunate” rep.
In the meantime, hold your breath until Alexi gets convicted.
Hey, dude, you HAD Fitzgerald. Too bad your Combiner buddies wanted Zero instead... and now Kirk. Because you refuse to clean out the crap in your own cage, its toxic waste explodes all over the rest of the country.
Alexi thanks you for your support. He'll clean up the mess. Thanks for the "conservative" advice.
I’m under no illusions as to what Alexi is, unlike you with Kirk, who actually believes he is a loyal and honorable Republican.
