Palin: "Koran Burning Is Insensitive, Unnecessary; Pastor Jones, Please Stand Down"
Sarah Palin's Facebook Page ^ | 9/9/2010 | Sarah Palin

Posted on 09/09/2010 7:17:52 AM PDT by VictoryGal

Book burning is antithetical to American ideals. People have a constitutional right to burn a Koran if they want to, but doing so is insensitive and an unnecessary provocation – much like building a mosque at Ground Zero.

I will say it again and again.

Politically this is a statement that is legal (although I really have a problem with freedom of speech being ACTED out), but theologically I have a problem with it.

This church is condemning another religion by burning a religious relic, as the Muslims did to the blown up Buddhas. Paul did NOT destroy any of the idols he came across on his missionary journeys, and neither should any follower of the Messhiah.

“Book burning is antithetical to American ideals.”

This is true. This is very, very true. However, binding copies of the Koran in pigskin, and selling them to people who wish to know their enemy, would be CLASSIC Americana!

As if aligning herself with the left on this
issue will gain her points with the MSM. And,
it is certainly amusing to me how the lefties
want GW to continue to shut-up except when it
comes to vocalizing something near and dear to
them. After 9/11 he got zero credit for urging
Americans not to blame Islam. Now, the MSM
can’t stop talking about it. Goes to show how
they always try to use a former “villain” to
upstage the current GOP “villians”.

The “Moderate” Muslim is a figment of your imagination. Just read the “book” they call “sacred” and see what it tells them, (compels) them to do.

Then get back to me and apologize for them some more.

The pastor is getting what he wanted — publicity.

He’s stretching his 15 minutes by getting all this attention.

This church is condemning another religion

It is not a religion. It is a form of government that parades itself as a religion. And therein lies the problem. It is a form of government that is protected as if it were a religion.

The left also thinks you need oxygen to breathe. Does that mean we all need to put plastic bags over our heads? Aren’t we on the right more intelligent than simply saying the opposite of the left? Remember that a broken clock is right twice a day.

If they know what’s good for them, the Mosquevites will.

Parts of the World Trade Center building went through the roof of the building where they want to build the mosque. That IS ground zero territory.

People are not going to stand for that. I’m not going to do anything about it, but then I’m not representative of every U. S. citizen. Some citizens take exceptional offense to this, and frankly, I don’t blame them one bit.

Our citizens have the right to say they will only be pushed so far. Every other nation’s people say things like that and mean it, and I don’t think we’re inferior to anyone.

I wouldn’t dream of going to Mecca and building an offensive building near a holy shrine. I expect reciprocal treatment by Islamic adherents here on our soil.

If it’s not forthcoming, there’s going to be fireworks. Our citizens can only be expected to take so much.

Our government is pushing stuff like this, so it can justify an active military division on U. S. soil. Don’t think there isn’t some gamesmanship being played here.

The “who” you refer to didn’t care when the US government burned Bibles printed in Afghani languages.

I am all for the Koran burning, the truth hurts. And that protest is not the same as murdering thousands of innocents.

Sorry, but it is dangerous and stupid to equate burning paper with erecting a mosque on top of the remains of 3000 people who were murdered by Muslims.

By equating the two, Palin has now given the victory mosque justification once those korans are burned.

Hey, maybe you and Palin need to watch the Muslims Burning Christians in Sudan video that was posted on a thread last night.

Or maybe you and Palin need to read where the “holy” book says it’s okay to “marry” infants as young as a day old. The old f’n pervs can thigh or sodomize infant girls just don’t penetrate them.

We need to stop kissing the feet of islam and start calling it what it is, an evil human sacrificing death cult. When we cave in to their demands they don’t back down. They just demand more and more and more. The whole point of this demonstration is a line in the sand.

You do realize that in creeping sharia the first areas to be attacked is free speech. There were two incidents of Christian pastors getting arrested for witnessing to muslims HERE IN THE US not too long ago.

Sorry FRiend but I dont see the linkage.

The Pastor is burning the Koran to make a statement, an action that will and does have the potential to provoke, but that is not his intent. His intent is and has been made clear and that is that he wants to bring attention that Islam is of the devil.

Provocation is the outcome, yes but not the intent.

' On the other hand, the Ground Zero Mosque is NOT a freedom of expression issue, it is a freedom of religion issue where provocation is not the outcome but rather the intent.

I hope I have made my view clear.

What needs to be done is a consistent, tit-for-tat response. EVERY time a U.S. flag gets burned in some Muslim country, we need to burn a Koran. We need to let them know than this particular Koran is being burned in response to this particular flag being burned. We need to let them know that EVERY time a U.S. flag is burned, a Koran will be burned. We need to take the video of the flag burning, tack on the Koran burning, and release the result as one video. We need to let them know that whoever burns a flag is DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE for a Koran being burned. It’s just like training children or dogs; the key is not the severity of punishment, but the certainty of punishment. This one-time thing is a fine gesture, but long term consistency is the key to getting the lesson learned.

Paul: "Did someone just evoke my name AGAIN?" - sheesh, can't you people READ?

Also, many of those who had practiced magic brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all. And they counted up the value of them, and it totaled fifty thousand pieces of silver. Acts 19:19

This FL pastor may be a whacko, but he got his idea from a pretty good source, and from some pretty serious disciples of Messiah.
