Palin: "Koran Burning Is Insensitive, Unnecessary; Pastor Jones, Please Stand Down"
Sarah Palin's Facebook Page ^ | 9/9/2010 | Sarah Palin

Posted on 09/09/2010 7:17:52 AM PDT by VictoryGal

Book burning is antithetical to American ideals. People have a constitutional right to burn a Koran if they want to, but doing so is insensitive and an unnecessary provocation – much like building a mosque at Ground Zero.

> Interesting.
> I would have thought you were talking about Palin.
> She’s on the same side as 0bama and Holder and the other regime Muslims.

Er, no, she’s against the Ground Zero mosque (ya know, the one Zer0 and his minions champion), which has parallels to burning the Koran. Which is the POINT of the post...

> The one thing I wouldn’t have taken palin for was a dhimmi. Looks like I was wrong.

Wow. Good luck with that line of “reasoning”.

After they solve this one do you think there’s a chance one of our brave American politicos will take on the Muzzies and ask them to stop burning Christians? Nah, I didn’t think so either.

Muzzy’s just burn churches and the people in them. Nothing “insensitive” about that. Or, they fly commercial airliners, fully loaded with fuel and infidels into large buildings.

We have to be careful of who we might offend. It's scary that we might get them angry at us again........?

Just sit back down Sarah and campaign for McNasty. There are RINO’s to help get elected in every state. Plenty to keep you busy for the months.

He has the right to do it. No question. But it’s the wrong thing to do. Like the mosque at Ground Zero. They have the right to do it, but... (you fill in the blank)

I agree with her.

The minister has every right to burn any book he wants- and the muslims have every right to build a mosque where they want.

At the same time- they are both stupendously idiotic ideas and common sense would have neither one carried out.

Rights come with responsibilities- because I can doesn’t mean I ought.

"We’ve got folks who......are trying to wrestle control away from us. It’s time to let them know we’ll do whatever the hell we please, and they can go to hell."

Interesting..that is exactly what the "Victory" mosque builders are saying.

Who will be man enough to stand down from this childish and dangerous pissing contest first...I wonder?

Normal people have to put up with offensive behavoir by all manner of kooks, who are usually defended by lefties, because it is their “right” (actually the lefty defense is because they are for anything normal people despise). What makes muslims more special than anyone else? Why shouldn’t they have to put up with being offended?

Sarah is wrong on this. Islam is not a religion but a brutal form of government. America has always been defiant in the face of countries that try to bully. If we are cowed now, we lose.

Sorry, but burning paper and building a victory mosque where Muslim invaders slaughtered 3000 people are not at all parallel. Unfortunately neither you nor Sarah Palin see that.

When aren’t you wrong, but I love the way that Palin twisted the knife on the 9/11 Mosque, every politician for national office has to condemn book burning, especially one of a holy book but very few, if any, have managed to combine it with condemning building the Mosque on that site.

Palin comes through again.

“Book burning is antithetical to American ideals. People have a constitutional right to burn a Koran if they want to, but doing so is insensitive and an unnecessary provocation – much like building a mosque at Ground Zero.”

The leftists throw the word ‘racist’ around so much, it doesn’t mean anything to me anymore. Figures one of Bloomie’s gophers would use the term like that.

There are moderate Muslims (I work with one) who do none of those things and speak out against it. If I burned a Bible to protest jerks like Phelps I would be an insensitive tool for doing so, burning a book that many good Christians who DON’T protest military funerals consider sacred.

I’m beginning to think I should just step away from this topic, people have pretty much made up their minds and no amount of logic is going to sway.

What is my point? Why is it that no one expects the stinking muslims to show restraint, but they expect Americans to?

Painful reminder that no matter how much we may like her, & how great she may be, she is still a politician.

Still — when you’re in a battle, you want to defeat the enemy ... not rile them up.

I have no problem whatsoever with making people angry when there’s a purpose. Drop bombs where they need to be dropped; kill those who need to be killed; dethrone those who need to be dethroned; conquer those who need to be conquered. Stop forward progress and encroachment. Do what must be done to win.

But ... this has no purpose other than to enrage. It reminds me a little of NFL players that insist on pointless pre-game trash-talking that ends up motivating their opponent. They’re just producing bulletin-board material for the enemy.

And, like trash-talking loudmouthed wide receivers, they’re left in the awkward position of backing off and looking weak, or standing firm and motivating the enemy. When those are the ONLY possible outcomes ... you should’ve kept your mouth shut in the first place.
