Over the last six or nine months I have been growing ever more concerned over Glenn Beck and his Evangelical and Conservative followers. I have not been alone, there have been countless other Christian Laymen and Pastors have expressed the same concern when Mr. Beck started talking about God, Jesus and Faith.
My question is should we as Christians who believe in Salvation by Grace Alone, through Faith Alone in the Person and Work of Christ Alone, for Gods Glory Alone have anything to do with Beck in the areas of Faith and Religion?
Mr. Beck is a confessing Mormon, and his theology and false history leak out during his programs.
Example #1:

This isn’t about specifics of beliefs, it’s about God inspiring men to do His will.
Apparently, you keep failing to see that.
So yes, I guess I’ll see you in another 50 posts.
Go get a cuppa coffee and relax, Rip...
I'm sure 5 years of snake handling was enough. lol.
I bet you feel much more secure now in your "faith". Nice job.
“1 Nephi 13:
10 And it came to pass that I looked and beheld many waters; and they divided the Gentiles from the seed of my brethren.(OCEAN)”
There you go again. Anybody can predict something 350 years after it happened. Did you forget the Book or Mormon was written centuries after Columbus sailed the Ocean blue?
Millions of us who believe the Book of Mormon was translated by Joseph and not written by him believe it was written by ancient prophets and that Nephi lived around 580 B.C.
To each his own.
Sure is amazing that Joseph with his limited education and living in frontier America had access to such references as Columbus writing he was led by the Holy Ghost.
Outstanding researching for such a young lad!
Such an incredible and vast library he had at Palmyra!
You stated, “This isnt about specifics of beliefs, its about God inspiring men to do His will. Apparently, you keep failing to see that.”
Which god, gods, or God are you and he referring too? There in only one God, and that is the God of the Old and New Testament. It isn’t the Mormons plethora of gods. If you don’t know who god, gods, or God is then how are you supposed to do his will.
Specific beliefs about the person (God) himself dictate if you can discern His will or not. Glenn Beck follows the false gods of Mormonism and hence cannot know the Will of God because he knows not God himself.
Ripliancum,
You must have a really low threshold on your amaze-a-meter! I reread your post from Nephi 13 and I assume the all-caps were either yours or Joseph Smith’s. Either way it is a lot like how people read Nostradamus:
Two brothers shall die, the nation shall mourn (THAT’S GOT TO BE THE KENNEDY’S.)
A storm shall displace many, a leader shall fall (Obviously, that’s KATRINA and GEORGE W BUSH!)
A false prophet shall arise in a time of trouble and shall attract a huge crowd to himself proclaiming Change! Change! (BARACK OBAMA OR IS THAT GLENN BECK! or any other of a million other leaders in history)
Seriously! None of the sentences you highlight would have taken one library book to know, not one!
Seeing that I am the author of the original article that was linked here, and after reading all of the comments, I am truly left wondering if anyone actually and critically read my article and considered what I said.
No where in my article did I say that we can’t join other faiths to support Civic Justice, and a proper Constitutional Republican Government. We are in the world, and we need to interact with it, however we are not to be part of the world. Furthermore, Paul commands us not to partner with unbelievers. And Mormons are unfortunately unbelievers.
“14 Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? 15 What accord has Christ with Belial? Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever? 16 What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said, I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 17 Therefore go out from their midst, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch no unclean thing; then I will welcome you, 18 and I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty.”
- 2 Corinthians 6:14 - 18
Do you really think that it is pleasant for me to bring such subjects up? I am even harassed by my own family for speaking my mind. Furthermore, I am no GOP or Commie shill or demagogue. I am a Jeffersonian Constitutionalist, and a member of the Constitution Party.
I will end my comment with this, what is more horrific and terrible, watching a nation collapse or watching the literal rape of the Gospel of Jesus Christ?
Incredible. You are making absolutely no sense, and to top it off, are speaking out of both sides of your mouth.
I asked you if Columbus was inspired to come to the Americas, and you said “No”. Now you are telling me that it was common knowledge that the Holy Ghost led him here, so Joseph Smith would have known this.
You can’t have it both ways! Why should an uneducated boy be expected to know this but you didn’t, in today’s wide open world of communication and education?
Don’t be lukewarm on this, pick a position and stick to it.
How long halt ye between two opinions?
You foolishly assume that Nephi lived centuries before Columbus, but have no proof other than the ravings of a mad man, Joseph Smith. You obviously missed something in the translation. I never denied Columbus claimed the Holy Spirit led him. What I have said is 1) The book of Mormon never “predicted” such a thing, you are reading words that aren’t there. 2)That even if the BoM did “predict” such a thing it wouldn’t really be a prediction, because the book was written hundreds of years after Columbus. 3) Even if Columbus claimed the Spirit led him, does not make his voyage “inspired” in any meaningful way as it pertains to the founding documents or that it is relevant to anything discussed on this blog (except things in your own head, apparently).
