8/27 & 8/28 Glenn Beck Takes Another Bite Out of the Apple: The Meaning of Divine Destiny

Perhaps 300,000 people will make the trek to Washington D.C. this week for talker Glenn Beck’s 8/28 Restoring Honor rally at the Lincoln Memorial, and many professing Christian ministers will attend his Divine Destiny prayer meeting at the Kennedy Center on August 27th. I fear most of these patriotic folks don’t know the difference between the free gospel of grace in Jesus Christ and the Mormonism Glenn Beck preaches. I will beat around the bush no longer.

It is really quite simple. Glenn Beck believes the original false gospel Satan put forth in the Garden of Eden when he tempted Adam and Eve to eat the forbidden fruit:

Genesis 3:4, 5: And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
But God had earlier given them warning:
Genesis 2:16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: 17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
All Christians recognize the primary consequence of the garden sin: death. Beck, on the other hand, sees the poisonous meal as a good thing. Recently, he said Adam and Eve “came down” and “had to eat the apple” because “they had to have a knowledge of good and evil” because “freedom to choose is essential”. Here is an exchange he had back in 2008 with one caller, who actually had the right idea about sin in the garden:

And Sharpton exposes himself for the little slime bag that he really is. He will lead his band of communist bloodsuckers in a march to Hell. The contrast will be amazing. Taxpayers vs taxtakers.

Not a prophet at all.

The way I look at it, I don’t watch/listen to Beck for his religious views. I tune in essentially for the news of the day. If he wants to be a Mormon then I don’t have a problem with that.

I will put my next paycheck on the line and say there will be ALOT more than 30,000 patriots at the 8.28 Rally. I’m guessing around 1 million.

For those of you alleged conservatives who think Beck is a “false prophet”... just keep thinking that. He doesn’t need you. You obviously don’t listen to the radio show or watch the TV program.

What does Glenn say that is incorrect? I’d like some examples.

When I go to the Courts, I listen to Beck’s show. He may be a Mormon but you wouldn’t know that by listening to him. He is trying to pull this country back to its roots...not spread his Mormonism.

I, too, listen to Beck for news, commentary. No problem, there.

Actually, I granted him 300,000 not 30,000 but why not a million and a half?

I have listened to his show daily for a couple of years, now.

For the most part in his political views and about the corruption he is usually right on. This rally is not about politics, but about religion.

Carton,

Did you not read the article? Those nice young men in their white shirts don’t really sound like Mormons, either.
As I point out in the article, that is the problem. Many Christians can’t tell the difference because they don’t know their Bibles.

Does he claim to be a prophet?

I seldom listen to him, so I haven’t heard that.

Beck is a false prophet.

He doesn't pretend to be a "prophet". He doesn't want that title. All he is doing is providing the truth as he sees it, and he encourages us to do our own research and arrive at our own opinions.

Is he perfect? (Well, uhhhh, No.)

Is all his "thinking" perfect. (Well, uhhh, No, but it is better than 99% of the thinking that is currently in all the schools and text books and in the media.)

Here we go, setting the stage to go after Mitt Romney. I would hope you had something better to do with your obvious knowledge of Religion.

Who gives a rat’s ass?

LOL!, That phrase normally means 'who cares even a tiny bit'.

That person "Who gives a rat’s ass?" must include you or you have skipped over this thread without posting.

No I wanted to mock the fools who think this garbage is worth more than a passing glance.

During a time that is so critical to the future of America you want to mock other soldiers on our side?

You need to reevaluate just who the enemy is.

“...mock the fools who think this garbage is worth more than a passing glance...”

Part of the significance is how this will play out in the national press. If Beck gets a good crowd the story will be largely ignored.

If he gets less than 250,000 then the media commentary will be about how conservatives, TEA Partiers, and Republicans are all losing momentum now and Dems are likely to not lose too many congressional seats on November 2nd.
