Dittos Rush! ^ | 8-9-10 | James

In this home video (from a cell phone video shot by Homeroid Billy Sullivan) Sarah Palin is confronted by a snotty constituent who is upset that she quit her Governorship to "become a celebrity":

Kathleen: You swore on your precious Bible that you would uphold the interests of this state, and then when cash was waved in front of your face, you quit.

Palin: OH, you WANTED me to be your governor! I’m honored! Thank you!

Kathleen: I wanted you to honor your responsibilities. That is what I wanted. I wanted you to be part of the political process instead of becoming a celebrity so that you could (inaudible). And if that’s the best you could do, then good for you. If that’s the best you could do.

Palin: Here’s the deal. Here’s the deal. (inaudible) That’s what I’m out there fightin’ for Americans to be able to have a Constitution protected so that we can have free speech…And ALSO there…

Where are your manners gunner?

If you’re going to post the direct link to the video, shouldn’t you also post the insightful commentary that Little Jimmie has written to go along with it?

No ... not the transcrption of the video text. The original composition from Jimmie’s blog. Here, I’ll post it:

SarahPAC should write a check to Shannyn Moore for posting that video.

It shows Palin as a relatively normal person confronting an ideologically motivated crank.

She did well. More of this will come.

Best,

Chris

Oh, precisely. Palin understood then that the person was a union plant. Palin and the teachers’ unions in AK never really got along.

The goobers over at HuffPo tried to say that Palin was rolling her eyes and what not, but she didn’t. She just understood that it was a set-up and she was talking to a brick wall.

Best,

Chris

[She should have stayed in office and forced Alaska to change its laws regarding legal defense costs.]

So, what you are saying is she should have gone down with the ship, left herself and her family $3 million in the whole with legal costs and let herself be hacked to death.

Here’s a suggestion, why don’t you do the same for freedom, all you have to do is hock your home and give it to a politician you like who is fighting as hard as Palin. Or run for office yourself.

Methinks Kathleen never voted for Sarah Palin. It wouldn't surprise me if she wasn't an Alaskan at all. Sounds more like a Mrs. Pissant.

There is no way that Palin could fight the national media, the national Democratic party and the national Romney/Rockefeller branch of the GOP from Alaska, she could not have traveled to the states and helped restructure the GOP in a more conservative mode, she could not have fought the Obama administration and Washington DC, from the remote distance of Alaska.

Alaska and Hawaii are not the places where a sitting Governor can make a dominant national presence in the New York, Washington DC, dominated mainland, and if you are the person that the mainland media has launched the most vicious, carefully coordinated media attack against in history, then you and your conservative movement would die on the vine in remote and distant Hawaii or Alaska.

After Obama quits being president (either before his 4 years is over or by not running again) the ‘quitter’ brand is going to be neutralized.

Sarah had a a target on her and she moved out of the way.

No other candidate (especially King Obama) is scrutinized the way Sarah Palin is. Every negative they throw towards her goes double for Obama. Experience. Intelligence. Patriotism. Strength. Fortitude. Moral values. Commitment to the Constitution and promotion of individual freedom.

I’m glad she quit. She’s more effective in shaping the conversation than she would have been in Alaska. As someone else said, it was very dumb of the dems to not let her return to Alaska in peace and just ignore her. Too late now. She’s on a mission.

Something that worries me is the glamorous, pampered, Marie Antoinette lifestyle that she lives back in Alaska, away from the national media, as evidenced in this photo (her husband and daughter on the left).

"Forced?" How is this done?

Yeah, I always wonder...if some of the other junk was supposedly an ethical problem, tell me exactly how a campaign to change the ethics laws in order to get out from under them wouldn’t have been.

Good question. How will she be an effective executive in the White House if she was unable to be effective in Alaska with all the charges against her?

If she had found a way to run the governor's office in Alaska in the face of all those investigations, she would be totally unstoppable as a presidential candidate.

Read post 27, it was to you.

If she had stayed in Alaska, the media back in the mainland would have Dan Quayled her and kept her from becoming the leader of a new, passionate, conservative movement.

Sarah Palin started leading the broken and demoralized conservative movement immediately after Obama swept the nation, her first big step was in December, weeks after the election when she started kicking some tail down in Georgia by leading a Senator to a victory in his runoff race.

She HAS been Quayled. And I wouldn't classify her as THE leader. I would classify her as A leader in the conservative movement.

Palin is the dominant Republican figure in American politics, she is leader of and the most vibrant individual in the conservative movement, and she is definitely a solid choice for winner of the Republican primary at this point.

I appreciate your enthusiasm. And I understand your statement as I would take a statement from an MC at a political convention who is introducing his favorite candidate as "the next president of the United States," even when his boy has no prayer of even taking his own state.

But when it comes to straight-up facts, Sarah Palin is part of a group of several viable candidates, including, but not limited to: Tim Pawlenty, Chris Christie, Newt Gingrich, Haley Barbour, Jim DeMint and even Mike Huckabee. She is not THE leader. However she is viable.

I don't support her to be the candidate... but if she is the candidate, I will campaign for her and vote for her.... because even with her issues, she is a much better candidate than the current "president."
