In this home video (from a cell phone video shot by Homeroid Billy Sullivan) Sarah Palin is confronted by a snotty constituent who is upset that she quit her Governorship to "become a celebrity":

Kathleen: You swore on your precious Bible that you would uphold the interests of this state, and then when cash was waved in front of your face, you quit.

Palin: OH, you WANTED me to be your governor! I’m honored! Thank you!

Kathleen: I wanted you to honor your responsibilities. That is what I wanted. I wanted you to be part of the political process instead of becoming a celebrity so that you could (inaudible). And if that’s the best you could do, then good for you. If that’s the best you could do.

Palin: Here’s the deal. Here’s the deal. (inaudible) That’s what I’m out there fightin’ for Americans to be able to have a Constitution protected so that we can have free speech…And ALSO there…

I thought she was damn brave to resign. They were going to put her through political hell....just as they are. She was determined to be separate from her state so her state would not be harmed.

I...am...loving this. Instead of letting Palin go back to governing Alaska and fading away for at least 3 years, liberals everywhere throw everything but the kitchen sink at her. They basically force her to resign for the good of Alaska while she handles frivolous lawsuits. So what does she do? Writes a best seller, gets her own TV show and becomes a liberals’ worst nightmare. LOL

I like Palin. Serious. I agree with her views. I like what she is doing, helping conservatives get elected. (Although, she was wrong to endorse Meg Whitman in California). I like her demeanor. I like how she has handled the attacks on her family with grace. If she is the GOP nominee, I will campaign vigorously for her and I will vote for her.

Having said all that, I really do believe that quitting her job as governor was a huge mistake. I know why she quit... she was being harassed with fictional ethics violations that were costing her millions in legal costs. She could not both do her job as governor and defend herself. I get it. But it was still the wrong thing to do.

She should have stayed in office and forced Alaska to change its laws regarding legal defense costs.

Here's the thing. If Sarah is perceived as being unable to stand up to attacks as governor of Alaska, how can she stand up to America's enemies? I hope the GOP comes up with a better candidate than Sarah for 2012. My best suggestion would be NJ governor Chris Christie.... provided he gets a clue about illegal immigration policy.

You ruin your own supposed point by clearly stating that Alaskan law was working against Sarah. She could not win in the fight against the ethics complaints as the people lodging them were using the law for a purpose that it was never intended to be used for. Sarah did the right thing, only Sarah haters think other wise. When she becomes President she won't have ethics laws working against her and bankrupting the nation as Alaska was being trashed. It wasn't just Sarah's money that was being gobbled up but that of the state also. Besides, should she have allowed herself to become so mired in debt she would never get out?

Easy to claim she should have stayed when you aren't the one who would have ended up paying the bills.
