Obama Campaign Disbursements To Perkins-Coie

The following is information was compiled from the official Federal Elections Commission website for disbursements from the Obama campaign to the law firm of Perkins Coie, which is or did represent Obama in various eligibility suits. The FEC links follow the entries.

2nd Quarter, 2010, FEC report for Obama for America
Perkins Coie: $248483.94

http://query.nictusa.com/pdf/501/10930598501/10930598501.pdf#navpanes=0

1st Quarter, 2010

Perkins Coie: $261,206.69

http://query.nictusa.com/pres/2010/Q1/C00431445/B_PAYEE_C00431445.html

October 2009 quarterly:
Perkins Coie: $314,018.06
http://query.nictusa.com/pres/2009/Q3/C00431445/B_PAYEE_C00431445.html

July 2009 quarterly:
Perkins Coie: $270,754.18
http://query.nictusa.com/pres/2009/Q2/C00431445/B_PAYEE_C00431445.html

April 2009 quarterly
Perkins Coie: $688,316.42
http://query.nictusa.com/pres/2009/Q1/C00431445/B_PAYEE_C00431445.htm

l

Year-End 2008
Perkins Coie: $173,052.52
http://query.nictusa.com/pres/2008/YE/C00431445/B_PAYEE_C00431445.html

Amended post-general election:
Perkins Coie: $205,323.00
http://query.nictusa.com/pres/2008/30G/C00431445/B_PAYEE_C00431445.html

That adds up to: $2,161,155.11

Perkins Coie does not appear in the pre-general election filing or a few others checked randomly. You are free to pursue any further information that is of interest. But one would assume that the official FEC website to which the Obama and other campaigns must report their financial activity would be taken by even the most skeptical among us as valid documentation of the reported $1.4 or $1.8, or anything in between, figure expended to defend the eligibility suits.

This information is about the legal fees only of that one law firm, not the DOJ attorneys, court time, or other related costs.

(((Starwise note: and including fees to at least a couple other law firms))).

Edinva’s review of the current FEC report apparently also reveals an additional $4550 to Perkins Coie for “rental/occupancy” .. a rather unusual description for legal services, unless -0 is paying for space in their office.

What makes you think all disbursements by “Obama for America” to a law firm are for defending against birther lawsuits? And what makes you think Obama loses a penny because of ANY money spent by “Obama for America”?

You could argue that it isn’t being spent on his reelection, but then, money donated by birthers to their lost cause cases (now being defended with taxpayer money) is not being spent to elect conservatives. So it is a wash, or would be if Obama wasn’t able to counter the birther lawsuits using taxpayer money...

So just what do you think you are gaining?

This thread started out with the missing (shredded ?) pages from the FOIA, with some interesting dates soaking to be digested, massaged, faced, twittered leaving us in the blank of speculation. Interesting to see the few fifth column SPs as usually trying to muddying the water so that it fits their agenda of ordered talking points!!!

And what makes you think NOT?

And why should I tell you what there is to gain? Let your masters figure that out foir themselves, besides, wouldn’t want to spoil their surprise when it happens.

There is no record of Obama spending a single penny of his own money to defend against birthers. At best, he spends campaign money, much of which is probably from the Saudis who bought cash cards they then used to contribute to his campaign with no risk of being caught.

I have no masters, but that is hard to explain to a conspiracy nut...so feel free to imagine I’m getting paid $500/day to point out your nonsense.

What makes you think all disbursements by “Obama for America” to a law firm are for defending against birther lawsuits?

As I illustrated here, the argument that every disbursement made by "Obama for America" to Perkins Coie was Birther-related breaks down completely once you actually pay attention to the details.

For instance, according to the last two 2008 disclosure reports, over $378,000 was spent before December 31, 2008 on Perkins Coie. However, before December 31, 2008, there were very few Birther lawsuits, and only ONE Birther suit that Perkins Coie had actively participated in at all.

And in that lawsuit, Perkins Coie attorneys only filed THREE documents, totalling a whopping 30 pages (including certificates of service).

So Birthers who want to believe that all that money was spent on Birther-defense are arguing that "Obama for America" spent over $12,000 PER PAGE for those 2008 filings, which could've been cobbled together by a first-year associate in a single afternoon.

Point this out to a Birther, though, and they'll sooner shift the subject than try to defend the abject absurdity of that number.

Yes. When you can’t argue the facts, when you can’t deal with logic, when you don’t want other people to discuss the obvious—distract, distract, distract, change the subject, distract, bloviate about minutia. We got them figured by now. Won’t work, though. We’re pit bulls. We’re never letting go.

Perkins Coie has a large office in Chicago. One of the lead attorneys of the firm, who prosecuted former governor George Ryan for political corruption, was all over the NY Times and Chicago press acting as the legal correspondent for...the Blagojevich trial.

I wonder if some of those payments went to keeping Obama’s name out of the Blagojevich trial? I am certain the Whitehouse was much more concerned about Rod and his brother shooting their mouth off, than the latest fevered dreams of Ms. Taitz.

1967- Government Inquiry – Barack Hussein Obama – Born in the US and Stepson of Lolo

http://nativeborncitizen.wordpress.com/2010/08/02/1967-government-inquiry-barack-hussein-obama-born-in-the-us-and-stepson-of-lolo/

“He is living with the applicants’ spouse in Honolulu, Hawaii.”

“He [word stricken out with xxxx’s] is considered the applicants stepchild”

He = Obama

applicant = Lolo?

Does this mean Obama legally adopted by Lolo?

Sorry to ask the obvious.

“The book, Law of Nations, was the text chosen by Thomas Jefferson as the text for the first law school in the U.S. created at the College of William and Mary in 1779. Before that colleges were controlled by the crown. Law schools were not necessary since we were all British subjects. (It may be that they were not permitted - someone may provide those data).”

Thanks Danamco. I had only “This Was New York,” the amazing history of the time which mentioned Washington's desk in passing. So he took out Volume 12 of Blackstone? Have you any idea whether there was any particular subject matter in Blackstone?

My small experience was with a version which is, thank goodness, on the Canadian government archive site, so it was not hard to follow citations.

Also please consider this. I can’t remember where I read this before, but Subarkah may be a variant spelling of Soebarkah. Something I read once had to do with the Dutch influence, which is why you see Sutoro and Soetoro. I can’t remember which is the Dutch influence spelling, though. Maybe someone on here would know and could check that out.

She was actually denied boarding while late term pregnant, attempting to get back home. (Distressed young white gal named Stanley — Think you’d remember? She was by missionaries.) She would have been there for while, at the break between college quarters, leaving w/hubby Xmas holiday break Jan/Feb to of course August; remember, Stanley Ann wasn’t enrolled for Spring Quarter 1961 at University of Hawaii per her college transcripts. Obama Sr. returned to HI however. Stanley stayed..was estranged from parents (1960, out of wedlock pregnant age 18 to foreigner of another race..uhm, how do u think parents felt??). Had Barry at Coast Provincial General Hospital in Mombasa since they had British staff. Promptly returned on British Overseas Airways Corporation flight (allowed students to fly at discount/free if not full) and returned to old stomping grounds of Mercer Island, where she lived with Barry another year — still estranged from parents.

She would repeat her previous independant behavior marrying another foreigner and taking off to Indonesia.

Yes born abroad. But now looking at all the patches blocked by Zero and his minions on the time line —

and the research conducted by freeper Butterdezillion via communications with Hawaii DOH (Barry listed on vital records but no prima facie evidence; he supplied DOH with document to obtain amended COLB in 2006 pre Presidency run) and SirJohnBarleyCorn’s logical deduction on this thread of Zero’s records sealed (adoption record, citizenship records in Indonesia, application papers to Columbia)

— it appears Zero is an illegal alien as well.

Now our friends abroad will really think the country has it’s act together. /sarcasm

The lawyers have info kept close to the chest not publicized for obvious protective reasons. One lead that very well may be is the former INS agent on East Coast who remembered Barry from his “slick” mannerism and speech; he went back into the INS files revealing Zero came into the USA on a FS-1 passport/visa. FS-1 is a foreign student visa classification, not a US citizen passport.

Thanks for your response. I’m thinking that’s what I read too. I’ve just read so much stuff on this American mystery, this spy novel, that it’s hard to remember what I read and when.

So, basically, Subarkah/Soebarkah is the same, just variants.

Do you have a way of finding out meanings of Indonesian names? Also, now over at the P&E, Chris Strunk in a post is spelling it Saebarkah, but to me it looks like Soebarkah in the document. He should know, and he’s calling BO, Saebarkah Soetoro.

Thanks
