Perkins Coie does not appear in the pre-general election filing or a few others checked randomly. You are free to pursue any further information that is of interest. But one would assume that the official FEC website to which the Obama and other campaigns must report their financial activity would be taken by even the most skeptical among us as valid documentation of the reported $1.4 or $1.8, or anything in between, figure expended to defend the eligibility suits.
This information is about the legal fees only of that one law firm, not the DOJ attorneys, court time, or other related costs.
(((Starwise note: and including fees to at least a couple other law firms))).

Edinvas review of the current FEC report apparently also reveals an additional $4550 to Perkins Coie for rental/occupancy .. a rather unusual description for legal services, unless -0 is paying for space in their office.
What makes you think all disbursements by “Obama for America” to a law firm are for defending against birther lawsuits? And what makes you think Obama loses a penny because of ANY money spent by “Obama for America”?
You could argue that it isn’t being spent on his reelection, but then, money donated by birthers to their lost cause cases (now being defended with taxpayer money) is not being spent to elect conservatives. So it is a wash, or would be if Obama wasn’t able to counter the birther lawsuits using taxpayer money...
So just what do you think you are gaining?
