I do not believe they will give it up that easily. They will bring it back as something else, or they will attach it to another bill to try to pass it. But if this is true, kudos to Republicans for managing to stifle it.

There was a good article in the Journal this morning about how they are going to “abandon” this, pass the theoretically “smaller” one which has some GOP support, and then issue regs or pass supplementary bills that will essentially impose the original bill.
They’ve done that before, folks.
