I remember well when I moved back to Ohio from Texas, the Ohio taxation authorities just couldn’t comprehend the idea of a state without a state income tax (like Texas). They tried hard to tax the wages I earned in Texas with an Ohio state income tax to make up for it to the tune of about $1,500. I told them:”there’s no effing way I’m going to pay this” and “if you want it it, take me to court”. They didn’t pursue it after that. No state income tax, what a novel idea. Here in Ohio, we have state, local and federal income taxes as well as property taxes as well as a state sales tax. Forbes ranked Ohio as the 34th best state to do business in 2010.

Although I agree that Texas is the most Business Friendly state, I find a lot of this study non-credible.

For example:

How can Mass. be number 5?

And How can Alaska be in last place?

I think the study is BS!

Yes, and California at 32. Way to high for them.

With Alaska, it has more to do with geography then anything else. Low population density and crappy environmental conditions are also a factor.
