No amount of special edition DVDs or syndicated repeats on UPN, Hot Johnny thought, would ever explain the rabid appeal of “Sex and the City”. It was too much part of an alien culture -- i.e., women -- to ever make more sense than the Sphinx or the Pyramids in Egypt.
That is, until this week when he stumbled upon the answer. He was walking along the streets of Park Slope on Saturday, with his friend Sara, who was in town on business. The two of them had just enjoyed a delicious Bavarian-style lunch at Steinhof’s on 7th Avenue and were talking about New York and all of its NY-ness. And the number of TV shows based on that thin premise.
It was during this highly caffeinated affair, when, like a bolt of lightning, HJ was seized with a vision -- like that of Saul’s on the road to Damascus (only, with more schnitzel):
“Sex and the City” is just “Star Trek” for women.

I still don’t get it!
I could have tolerated all the swooning of the show if I didn’t have to read the media constantly describing horse face Sarah Jessica Parker with such superlatives as; The Stunning SJP, the Gorgeous SJP, the Ravenous SJP, the Sexy SJP, etc. It’s enough to make a guy puke and certainly makes one wonder what credibility a show could possibly have by putting the word Sex in any show with her as the star.
Sex and the City and Star Trek are for the same types of people. People who can’t get laid.
SJP is not an attractive woman....takes alot of work to get her presentable for the audiance....similar to Opra whose daily routine takes four hours of makeup and hair. The same with her lanky figure...not exactly a pin up gal.
And the last movie takes them to the middle east...
Wouldn’t they get flogged there for the kind of behavior they do in NYCity?

The author needs to meet women from different circles.

it’s part of the progressive propaganda machine. i thought that was obvious.
they promote a radical life style of hedonism as ‘cool’ to undermine the fabric of American social culture in the of luring people into the way of life. this has been done time and again across numerous shows with different social angles.
no show gets the green light that doesn’t fit this agenda in some way. any show that evolves counter to this will be shutdown before it gets going (firefly), unless its a massive hit. and in some cases, being a hit won’t save them.

Perhaps if SJP had green skin it might broaden her appeal. She would also bring a good price in gold pressed latnum with Ferengi traders.

The gal is just not attractive...how she ever got the lead roll...well it wasn’t because of her looks!
