Here's the bet: he resigns before 2012 OR doesn't run for second term.

He’s not going to resign and he’s going to run for a second term. We’re going to have our hands full again with widespread voter fraud but a lot less people will be fooled by the hope and change BS. The GOP has to run a strong candidate though, of course everyone has a different opinion on who that candidate should be.

My bet is no elections in 2012.

Who would be responsible for dragging our dear FLOTUS out of their party house, kicking and screaming?

Great read, and brave lady.

I recall Obama won his early career contests by disqualifying the opposition through legal loopholes and petitions. It would be ironic if the karma comes back to end his career in the same way.

“But she cannot open up that application to count the number of signatures that are there, nor can she check to see if those signatures are valid. The only way that can be done is through someone objecting. So what usually happens then is that political candidates will object and then they get to look inside to see the signatures.”

This, I believe, is what obama did to challenge and then invalidate his competition in running for senate. He’s the last one who should object to being challenged. Anyway, the idea that citizens “don’t have standing” to challenge our own representatives is absurd. Surely a good lawyer can make the case that eligibility requirements, by virtue of their own existence, must be verified.

This has been happening to me more and more. I copied the address and loaded it directly into the address box. But then Google reroutes the address and spams me over to here:

http://images.google.com/images?q=http://www.thepostemail.com/2010/07/03/citizen-has-standing-to-contest-the-eligibility-of-candidates-for-office/

I didn’t ask google to search. I simply loaded an address manually, me myself and I ... in the address box.

Someone needs to explain to this boob what the definition of ‘standing’ is as it applies to civil suits.

She said in the article that incumbents can’t be trusted to make laws which would force eligibility to be verified because they want to game the system themselves (paraphrased). But I wonder what would happen if a referendum was placed on ballots across the country.

When does that have to get done? When do signatures have to be gathered? I suppose it’s probably too late for the 2010 ballot?

Craziest thing — I found the article on a search engine, clicked on the link, and STILL couldn’t load it while others are able to get there directly from here. There is some serious meddling with the routing process of that web page.

I have been saying this for quite a while. All it takes is a naturalized American candidate for president running in '12. When rejected for not being NBC, that candidate will have standing to sue and demand that all candidates prove their eligibility.

I don't know how a court will decline the "injured party," the candidate who was refused a place on the ballot, for lack of standing!

Does the RNC have the stones to run such a candidate early enough as a shot across 0b0z0’s bow? Early enough to go to court and get a ruling.

Unfortunately, I doubt it.
