I add my prayers for another long timers intentions .... I did buy a refurbished PC, for lack of being able to stretch Social Security and a miniscule pension to warrant a new one and have had not one bit of trouble with it except WINDOWS VISTA!

As to an inexpensive computer, try checking with Tiger Direct. I buy everything from them. I'll be getting my wife a Laptop from them very soon.

They have Refurbs, 'Off Lease', Open Box Specials, and natch, brand new Computers. Plus they sell 'Barebone Kits' where you can build your own. Add a few things, like an OS and a Video Card and off you go while saving money. (the cheaper the Kit the more you have to add on your own) Right now they have a "4th of July Sale" going.

In all the years I've dealt with them I only had one bad piece equipment, a Cannon Scanner, and I got a new, and BETTER model, asap for no cost. Plus I live close to one of their warehouses so if I order before noon Central, I get it two days later -- at the most. Some times its the next day. And that's UPS Ground, so their shipping Dept is on the ball.

Anyway, my prayers are with you and your family -- and to getting a good, inexpensive computer.
