So BP's chairman cares about the little people...who are these small people? The leprechauns dancing in his head?
The collection of Barack action figures that the president forgot to gift to the queen?
DENNIS KUCINICH?
In any case, to quote the great Paul Harvey, here is the REST of the story...

Yes, the guy is ignorant of American culture, yes, the guy revealed his disdain for us, BUT the real concern, imo, is the negligence of Caligula and the hinderance of the government when others have attempted to clean up the mess.
I don’t care so much about BP’s disdain as I do Caligula’s disdain.

English isn’t the guy’s first language...he didn’t mean it the way it was taken. Give him a break!

Just heard on the news that Charles Djou, the young Republican that just took Neil Abercrombie's seat in the house, has introduced a bill to bypass the Jones Act. Abercrombie is running for Governor here in Hawaii.

Eventually, if watch them long enough, you will realize that they are one in the same.

Well, it highlights the cultural divide and the greater lack of social and economic mobility of Europe compared to us. Which is why Americans get offended because everyone has the same chance to not be a “little” person.
I understand it was probably just a culture faux pas, but I’m going to make fun of it nonetheless

I don't think BP's chairman is much worse than those who argue noblesse oblige and if he even knew of our irritation, would not understand why. But Caligula acts out of hate and a desire to destroy American culture. I don't see it as once and the same.

Anyone that was offended is an idiot. We use the term “the little guy” all the time.

Yes, what does that have to do with the price of tea in China?
