It turned out to be a story that by the next day would go viral on the Web:
A 41-year-old Lynnwood man had accidentally shot himself in the testicles at Lowes.
For those at the scene, it would be something theyll remember as initially scary, and then, as they learned the details the guy did what?
Helping the victim, who was wearing black sweatpants, Fischer asked how it happened.
He says, It was in my waistband, and I felt it starting to slip, reached for it, and I must have positioned my finger so the trigger went off, Fischer remembered Thursday.

Rumor has it, he walks in circles now.
Darwin Honorable Mention?
This is not about a lack of safety. This is about the lack of a holster and stuffing a gun in a lose waistband. A safety does not cure ‘stupid’. No handguns should ever be carried in a manner that is likely to slip OR in a manner that allows access (even though cloth) to the trigger.
Keep your finger out of the trigger guard.
It’ll only happen twice, at most.
>Glocks lack a positive safety, which is why so many cops and other idiots shoot themselves [...].
Is this a BAD thing?
True, but I have seen quite a few accidents by people who say such things. One fine gentleman dang near shot me while talking about how useless and dangerous safeties are. Needless to say I was not amused by that display.
Common sense isn’t so common with some.
“This is my rifle...
this is my gun...
this one’s for fighting...
This one’s for fun...”
Depending on which one he’s grabbing of course...
“Hey...is that a gun in yer pants or are you just happy to see me...?”
But seriously...I N_E_V_E_R have the firearm jammed in the waistband without a sturdy belt and a paddle holster, or I carry in colder weather with a shoulder rig.
Jamming ANY pistol into sweatpants’ waistband is just, well, stupid.
Ozzy, I carry a G19 daily, and regarding the “positive safety”, well, like you said, 100% attentive is key. My positive safety is my trigger finger.
This guy is lucky he didn’t bleed out on scene.
Darwin Award candidate in action, I suppose...
I treat my Glocks as revolvers with light triggers and no safties. Regardless of Gaston’s claim of 3 safties, you pull the trigger on a Glock and it goes bang.
RE Glocks:
They are the AK47s of the handgun world...they ALWAYS work.
I Have a G21 as well, and love it.
I have never had an ND incident with either and don’t intend to.
ANd you are absolutely spot-on about the revolver comparison. That’s perfect.
Well, when the gun-grabbers use it to attack my rights it is.
“Unlike the safe 1911..”
I think between the grip and thumb safeties, the 1911 really is pretty safe. Cocked or not.
I agree. My point is that the glock is inherantly more safe as it does not have any springs in its’ firing mechanism that are under compression while being carried. The ND’s are due to people pulling the trigger at inoppertune times, particularly cops. That will tend to make any properly functioning firearm discharge.
