I haven't had a very good relationship with God in a while.... I don't even remember how to pray or if they will be answered after all this time. I do know that comfort can come to those who believe they are being led by His hand.
As I type, my stepdaughter is on a plane for Afghanistan. She will be joining the thousands of other men and women who are their to insure I can have the freedom to sit here and type this. She is there to insure that I have the freedom to talk to God anytime I choose to do so.
Please pray that she can serve with courage and honor. Most importantly pray for her safe return when her job is done.
Finally, please pray that my wife's pride will drown out her sorrow and worry. I am going to try to pray.... see if anyOne is still listening.

Not only does God love to answer prayer, he absolutely loves to answer the prayer of a man honest about his own situation.
I’ll pray with you, just remember, God loves to answer prayers that are mixed with faith.
Those who seek Him, will find Him. Prayers sent for you and your family.

Praying is easy.........just talk to God as you would your best friend for that is Who He is.....

God doesn’t care how long you’ve been gone. And remember, it’s the Holy Spirit that prompts you to pray in the first place, so He’s already right there with you, listening and holding out His hand to you. Just say, “God, please help me to pray. Put the right words in my mouth and my head.”
Of course I will pray. But, if you take your thread and read it saying at the beginning something like, “God, I don’t know if you’re there or if you’re really interested but ...”, then just say to Him what you said to us, you will be praying. No holy words, no special mantra or chant. Just talk. He does listen.
You haven't strayed too far from Our Lord. You are here requesting prayer because you know in your heart that prayers are answered.

There’s no perfect way to pray. Just talk to God like you would talk to a Freeper. He’ll listen. Prates for you, your wife and your stepdaughter. God has a plan for anyone who allows him in!!

God feels and cares as much for you today as He ever has! It’s you that’s slipped away, not Him. God can do all sorts of things, but one of the things he won’t do is force Himself on you. He’s waiting to hear from you. Take a few moments and read the parable of prodigal son. Turned his back on his father and family, lived in sin, squandered his inheritance and was living below what even the servants of his father lived. But yet every day his father watched the road, waiting for him to return. And when he does he’s received as though he never left, never slipped. Jesus told this story because He wants us to know that God is THAT father.

A dear friend’s grandson is on is way to Afghanistan today too.
We pray for all our children.........and they are all someone’s children even if they’re parents themselves.
As to your step daughter, I will pray for her safety and for your wife to be comforted by knowing what a supurb job she did in raising that fine young woman.
Oh, and by the way, whether you realize it or not, you spoke to God the moment you opened this thread.

Dear Enviso and Jackv: My son is in Afghanistan as well. Our Heavenly Father hears and answers prayers, sometimes in the most amazing ways. He will hear your prayers and will rejoice in the reconnection. He loves you dearly and is anxious to hear from you. I will pray for you as well. God Bless and Keep you.
