"Pavel Stroilov, a Russian exile in London, has on his computer 50,000 unpublished, untranslated, top-secret Kremlin documents, mostly dating from the close of the Cold War. He stole them in 2003 and fled Russia. Within living memory, they would have been worth millions to the CIA; they surely tell a story about Communism and its collapse that the world needs to know. Yet he cant get anyone to house them in a reputable library, publish them, or fund their translation. In fact, he cant get anyone to take much interest in them at all."
You know, it's said that to be ignorant of history is to be doomed to repeat it. I made that up myself. OK. I'm kidding, of course, but you can quote that, even though I didn't make it up.

A Hidden History of Evil

It seems many people in the West are implicated in these papers, as supporters, sympathizers, and traitors.
Important article ping.
This is a terrific article.I just read it in City Journal. I tried to see if there were any comments on City Journal butapparently they don’t allow access to comments.
I have often wondered why the almost-completesilence on the murders ofmillions in the USSR.
Fiction and movies often go back to the Naxi era and Hitler forall sorts of stories, but but never, ever the USSR, where amillion riveting stories are to be found.
But nothing!
Naxi=Nazi and pardon for sticky keyboard.
...he cant get anyone to take much interest in them at allWell maybe Putin
BTTT
Seems with the internet and crowd-sourcing it should be possible to publish such documents online inexpensively.
Yes....but he wants to get PAID!!!
You know folks, I have spent my life blaming Democrats for most of our ills. I have lumped in the media, the academics, the unions, the government institutions that plague our nation.
Those days stopped for me about 15 years ago. Oh yes, I still take these people and entities to task, but there is another entity. It’s an entity that claims to be the antithesis of world’s failed governmental and economic policies. And then... it does little more than that pay dismal lip service to the truth as we know it.
It’s an entity that claims to represent us, then reaches out to the side that feigns to loathe it, to do business with it. By doing so, it has become an extension of the side that feigns to loathe it. It sucks at the teat of good will from a beast that strives outwardly to destroy it.
This entity fails to get our message out. It fails to push people who are solid Conservatives. It fails to instill the will to turn around any of the political and social entities and policies that I have mentioned around.
It deserves a grade of D- for lip-service to our beliefs, and an F, no more accurately an incomplete to actually getting much of anything done.
In nature ‘void spaces will be filled’. In our political system, internet discussion sites, Conservative advocacy sites, and now a new fledgling party have erupted onto the scene, and for good reason.
I can understand the people and entities we loathe not taking an interest in those documents. I suppose I could even understand the institution that pretends to believe what you and I do, to say it’s not their task to mess with this information. I also know that any organization that actually believed what we do, would realize that if they didn’t take notice and do something, then nothing would be done. The job would never get done.
And isn’t that what many of us have finally come to realize today?
There simply isn’t an entity out there that truly represents us. The job is not getting done. And folks, we’re not exactly asking for the moon here.
Thanks for the ping.
Communism is still spreading and growing all over the world, so this information is going down the memory hole.
Thanks for the ping!
Am wondering if Stroilov has tried the 'Reagan Library' for 'housing' (as well, get his story for at least a 'Kindle' download...) Has he tried the Heritage Foundation for help? Anyway. . .back to story here.
That said, communism has always received the quiet nod; and not the outcry per nazism. Too close to all the communist perps who are in positions to determinedly ignore - on our behalf. (Media/Hollywood/Universities/Psychiatric/Labor/Sixties radicals/and now our very own Congress and White House - all commie friendly, of course.)
Hope not. . .as we get closer to repeating that history; perhaps more will want to find our historical precedents. (Could be as well, a great Russian language class exercise - to translate pages of these writings!) Anyone reading this who is in school, could/should take this with them. ..
Absolute and degraded Ignorance IS the 'evil abyss'. . .and we have so many, today who live in it's environs and are so nourished by what are it's environmental, parasitical false and/or synthetic truths. Ideas that can only 'get a life' on the back of a 'Good' and which after thus moving forward; this ignorance thanks itself for the ride.
It is all so pathetically damningly, ignorant.
Did Communism Fake Its Own Death in 1991?
American Thinker ^ | January 16, 2010 | Jason McNew
In a bizarre 1984 book [New Lies for Old], ex-KGB Major Anatoliy Golitsyn predicted the liberalization of the Soviet Bloc and claimed that it would be a strategic deception. ..."
"Golitsyn's argument was that beginning in about 1960, the Soviet Union embarked on a strategy of massive long-range strategic deception which would span several decades and result in the destruction of Western capitalism and the erection of a communist world government."
"Golitsyn published his second book, The Perestroika Deception, after the Soviet Union was dissolved in 1991. This book contained further analysis of the liberalization, in addition to previously classified memoranda submitted by Golitsyn to the CIA. The two books must be read together to get a complete picture of Golitsyn's thesis."
