Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Assurant, etc. will all become insolvent on the same day.

Found this on the internet: “So I just got out of a meeting where my congressman was speaking. Afterwards in a one on one I asked if I was missing something about the healthcare bill. Was there any reason to keep your health insurance after the pre-exist is initialized? He said why wouldn’t you keep your health insurance? I said because it is cheaper to pay the fine. Well there is a problem there (stumble with his words). I said what keeps the whole country from canceling their policies? Why would anyone buy it before it is needed? He stumbled and says there are some problems and stumbled with his words. The stunned look and wide eyed expression he gave me sent shock waves through my body. It became apparent to me that no one in congress thought about the ramifications of allowing sick people to buy insurance to cover the illnesses they already have. The whole healthy part of the country will cancel their insurance on the same day 4 or 5 years from now. Leaving only sick people on the rolls. The rest of the country will simply pay their fines and as soon as they get sick, trot into the insurance office on the way to the doctor. There will be no reason to have it. Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Assurant, etc. will all become insolvent on the same day. AND OUR CONGRESS was not smart enough to figure this out. “

I got this in an email. Regardless of who wrote it, or even if it actually happened, it makes sense.

The point of 0bamacare is to run the private insurance companies out of business so they can institute single payer. That’s why I couldn’t understand why the libs in Congress were so against 0bamacare because it didn’t contain a single payer clause. It can’t help but default to single payer very soon.

The socialists hope this plays out. All the insurers go bankrupt means that Uncle Sugar is FORCED to fill in. Aw, gee, shucks. Poor Uncle Sugar has to have fully socialized medicine with no competition from now bankrupt health insurance companies. Boo hoo hoo.

Can I has a Communism?

Check out what happened in Hawaii several years ago when the legislature decided it was not right that poor children did not have health insurance. So they passed legislation paying for the health insurance for any child (I think it was under the age of 16) whose parents applied for it. Guess what happened. As soon as it when into effect, all the parents who did have insurance for their kids canceled it and applied for the state version. When the legislature repealed the law a year later because it alone was bankrupting the state they generally had one comment. They did not think those parents who could afford it would be so crass as to not furnish their children with insurance but would let the government pay for it.

Surprise, surprise, surprise.

Limbaugh dealt with this issue in depth last week. So has every state that has implemented Hillary Care or Romney Care. The only way it can work is in a fascist state, and in a fascist state it can't properly allocate resources.

The Commerce Clause and the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution don't condone fascism.

Obama, Reid and Pelosi are fascists. What percentage of the electorate are also fascists?

“The whole healthy part of the country will cancel their insurance on the same day 4 or 5 years from now. Leaving only sick people on the rolls.”
This is exactly what killed the California version of this monster.

But 4 or 5 years is way too optimistic. The flip from a 65/35 split of Insurance Company funds to a mandatory 85/15 split will kill them in about 18 months.

Beck keeps saying they have to have something to collapse it into and Obama says there’s more to follow; they’re planning a public option. Massachusetts is the canary in the coal mine, but I think it’s coming to a head too fast there for the strategy to play out the way they want it to.

I don’t think that everyone will cancel their insurance on the same day. There are factors involved such as employers. Certain people like going to doctors for colds. Certain people like going to the doctor for checkups, and other minor things. Other people would only go to the doctor if they thought they might die if they didn’t. When you consider that currently women use about twice as much medical care than men, and get charged more because of that, and that Obamacare makes it illegal to charge women more, even though women use more medical care, you’ll probably see more men than women cancelling their health insurance.

Ya know, without sources, this is about as useless as (scrolling up) the aforementioned “fart in church.”

I know that this is just a conversation starters, but at least post the entire email here?

Why would they be concerned about such a minor thing as this?
They have big things to worry about...like whether Guam is going to capsize...

I suspect real insurance companies will institute a 30-60 day wait for the coverage to kick in.

You probably won’t be able to break a leg and get insurance right away.

However, it is clear that the administration wants *free* health care and they are not going to wait 4 years.

What we will see soon is a dramatic increase in free clinics and sever restrictions on medical debt collections.

I suspect that before long paying for medical services will be, for all practical purposes, voluntary on the part of the patient and Doctors will be disallowed from turning away someone in need.

One of the many reasons people will mot cancel their insurance and wait to get sick or hurt to buy more is because many people are on a prescription program.

Every try and pay full price for a 'script ? It isn't cheap

The GOAL of Obama is to have ALL of us on GOVERNMENT CARE - well, with a few exceptions ... like Obama and his family and politicians and union members.

See for yourself!

Obama is a proponent of SINGLE PAYER UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE:

Listen to him.

Obama is just doing what he stated BEFORE he was President.

I don’t believe everyone knows the deductibles and monthly fees that Uncle Sugar takes from each Medicare receipiant yearly (this socialized type of insurance is not free)....such as...(and there are more factors involved..these are just the basics)

CMS ANNOUNCES MEDICARE PREMIUMS, DEDUCTIBLES FOR 2010

The Social Security Administration announced there would be no increase in Social Security benefits for 2010. As a result of the hold-harmless provision, the increase in the Part B premium for 2010 will be paid by only a small percentage of Part B enrollees. Most Part B enrollees will pay the same monthly premium that they paid in 2009 ($96.40 was the 2009 standard monthly premium).

Approximately 27 percent of beneficiaries are not subject to the hold-harmless provision because they are new enrollees during the year (3 percent), they are subject to the income-related additional premium amount (5 percent), they do not have their Part B premiums withheld from social security benefit payments (19 percent), including those who qualify for both Medicare and Medicaid and have their Part B premiums paid on their behalf by Medicaid (17 percent).

The 2010 Part B monthly premium rates to be paid by beneficiaries who file an individual tax return (including those who are single, head of household, qualifying widow(er) with dependent child, or married filing separately who lived apart from their spouse for the entire taxable year), or who file a joint tax return are:

Beneficiaries who file an individual tax return with income:
Beneficiaries who file a joint tax return with income:
Income-related monthly adjustment amount
Total monthly premium amount:

Less than or equal to $85,000 Less than or equal to $170,000.........$110.50

Greater than $85,000 and less than or equal to $107,000
Greater than $170,000 and less than or equal to $214,000.... $154.70

Greater than $107,000 and less than or equal to $160,000
Greater than $214,000 and less than or equal to $320,000....
$221.00

Greater than $160,000 and less than or equal to $214,000
Greater than $320,000 and less than or equal to $428,000...
$287.30

Greater than $214,000 Greater than $428,000....$353.60

In addition, the monthly premium rates to be paid by beneficiaries who are married, but file a separate return from their spouse and lived with their spouse at any time during the taxable year are:

Beneficiaries who are married but file a separate tax return from their spouse:
Income-related monthly adjustment amount
Total monthly premium amount

Less than or equal to $85,000... $110.50

Greater than $85,000 and less than or equal to $129,000....
$287.30

Greater than $129,000....$353.60

Part B Deductible

In 2010, the Part B deductible will be $155.

Part A Premium and Deductible

Today, CMS is also announcing the Part A deductible and premium for 2010. The $1,100 deductible for 2010, paid by the beneficiary when admitted as a hospital inpatient.

Beneficiaries must pay an additional $275 per day for days 61 through 90 in 2010, and $550 for lifetime reserve days.
